The DP World Tour travels to Cheonan, South Korea this week for the 2026 Genesis Championship, the final tournament of the Back 9 series before the Race to Dubai Playoffs. The event runs from Thursday, October 22 through Sunday, October 25 at Woo Jeong Hills Country Club, with a $4 million purse and 5,000 Race to Dubai points up for grabs.
Last week’s DP World India Championship saw Eugenio Chacarra claim his third DP World Tour victory of the season, finishing at 21-under at Delhi Golf Club. The Spaniard defeated Daniel Hillier by two strokes, while Adrian Meronk and Angel Hidalgo shared third place at 15-under.
Chacarra will compete again this week in South Korea, where he is among the leading contenders at Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook.
Si Woo and Sungjae Lead the Way
South Korea’s Si Woo Kim is the betting favorite at +750, followed by compatriot Sungjae Im at +850. Chacarra (+900) has the third-shortest odds in this week’s field as he looks to secure back-to-back victories.
Jacob Skov Olesen and Hillier are next at +1750 apiece, followed by Ryan Fox (+2000), Angel Ayora (+2250) and Thomas Detry (+2250).
Im is also a former Genesis Championship winner, having captured the title in 2019. The South Korean finished runner-up in a playoff in 2023 and is seeking to become the tournament’s first two-time champion.
Defending champion Junghwan Lee (+20000) is also in the field after winning last year’s event at Woo Jeong Hills. Lee closed with a 64 to finish at 11-under, three strokes ahead of Laurie Canter and Nacho Elvira (+5000).
The Genesis Championship was first held in 2017 and became a DP World Tour co-sanctioned event in 2024. Last year’s tournament was the first played at Woo Jeong Hills after the event moved from Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea.
