Two of the most iconic teams in the NFL conclude Sunday’s slate of games as the Green Bay Packers (3-2) host the Dallas Cowboys (2-3) at Lambeau Field in a primetime matchup on Sunday Night Football.
The Packers severely underperformed through the first three weeks of the season, starting 1-2, with their lone win coming in a three-point overtime victory against the New York Jets in Week 2. While it wasn’t pretty against Tampa Bay in Week 4, Green Bay picked up the win and followed it with a 31-7 blowout victory over NFC North rival Chicago last week.
Green Bay’s offense finally found its rhythm against Chicago, with quarterback Jordan Love completing 80.6% of his passes for 367 yards and two touchdowns. Wide receiver Christian Watson caught both of those touchdowns as part of a big day in which he recorded 143 receiving yards, while second-year wideout Matthew Golden also topped the century mark with 123 yards. Running back MarShawn Lloyd rushed for two touchdowns in the win, the first two rushing touchdowns of his career and the first two for the entire Packers team this season.
The Cowboys are also having a subpar season through the first five weeks, with their most recent disappointment coming last week in a home loss to the previously winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday Night Football. Dallas turned the ball over three times in that game, including two interceptions thrown by veteran quarterback Dak Prescott.
One of those interceptions was especially costly, coming as the Cowboys were marching down the field in a late comeback attempt. Dallas needed a touchdown and two-point conversion to tie the game and force overtime, but Prescott was intercepted at the Tampa Bay 12-yard line with 1:22 remaining in the fourth quarter.

One year after rushing for a career-high 1,201 yards in his first season with Dallas, running back Javonte Williams isn’t quite on pace to replicate that production this year. However, he’s set to face a Green Bay defense that is allowing 127.6 rushing yards per game heading into Week 6.
Williams has surpassed 68.5 rushing yards only once this season, when he recorded 98 yards in Week 3 against Baltimore, but the Stats Hub notes that he has recorded 82 or more rushing yards in each of his previous two appearances against the Packers.

There are two interesting trends in the Stats Hub supporting Christian Watson finding the end zone Sunday night. The first is that Watson has scored at least one touchdown in each of the Packers’ last four home games. The second is that he has scored the first touchdown in each of his last three home appearances with Jordan Love as the starting quarterback.

Watson may not be a household name like some other wide receivers around the NFL, but he’s certainly one of the most talented and productive in the league. He caught six touchdowns in just 10 games in 2025 and has already matched that total through five games this season.
Seattle wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba entered Sunday’s action as the NFL leader with seven touchdown receptions, but Watson was right behind him with six, the second most in the league.
