Will any NFL Team go 17-0 or 0-17 in 2026? – 4th and South

As part of another Lenny’s Locks presented by Hard Rock Bet, we tackled a fun futures hypothetical heading into the 2026 NFL season.

Will any team finish a perfect 17-0? Or is there a better chance that someone ends the year 0-17?

Here’s how we see it.

Will Any Team Go 17-0 in 2026?

No. I know this is Lenny’s Locks, but there is no team going 17-0. That’ll never happen again.

Shout out to the ’72 Dolphins. But I don’t think we’ll ever see another undefeated regular season. It’s not happening.

Tom Brady, Randy Moss, and those Patriots were close, right? Even then, Dolphins fans were sitting on the edge of their seats hoping it wouldn’t happen.

I don’t see anybody matching – or beating – that mark ever again.

There’s a Better Chance a Team Goes 0-17 in 2026

There might be some teams that have a chance to go 0-17, though. There’s a much better chance of somebody going 0-17 than somebody going 17-0.

Leonard Fournette’s Pick: Dolphins to Finish 0-17 in 2026

I already know a few teams that could go 0-17.

I’m going to say one. Jarvis’ old squad. The Miami Dolphins.

Could the Dolphins Finish Winless?

So we’re tanking for Arch Manning or what?

Listen, who knows how the Manning family would handle that situation? We’ve seen how Eli handled things back in the day.

Miami is still a destination for players, but they’ve been searching for a winning culture for a long time. The fans have been waiting for a consistent winner for a while now, too. So it’ll be interesting to see how everything plays out. But I definitely didn’t expect Lenny to say the Dolphins would go 0-17.

Jarvis Landry’s Pick: Cardinals to Go 0-17 in 2026

I hate to say it because I’ve talked so highly about them, but I’d have to go with the Arizona Cardinals.

And listen, Jeremiah Love is still going to have an amazing season. I’m calling it right now. He’s going to win Offensive Rookie of the Year. If you’re on the Hard Rock Bet app right now, go check those odds.

But when I look at Arizona’s schedule, plus the emergence of Myles Garrett with the Rams, Seattle being who they are, and San Francisco still being San Francisco, the only way I see Arizona getting a win is if they play Miami. Because if Miami is going 0-17, that’s probably the only game Arizona wins.

It’ll definitely be interesting to see how it all plays out, but I don’t think there’s going to be a 17-0 team this season.

So what about the Jets? Their season hinges on a few key factors:

Can Demario Davis Change the Jets?

Demario Davis says he’s ready. He says he’s bringing a winning culture to the New York Jets.

And I’ll tell you this – I played with him in New Orleans. That dude has a big helmet. He’s not afraid of contact at all. He was one of the leading tacklers on our team for a reason.

Now he’s back with the Jets, back in a city that’s been looking for a winning football team since Joe Namath. It’ll be interesting to see how that culture changes, especially with Geno Smith being in the news recently.

Garrett Wilson’s Untapped Potential

I honestly think this could be Garrett Wilson’s last year in New York, win or lose. Maybe I don’t know anything, but I just think a player of his caliber deserves to be in a better situation.

As fans – and as receivers – I think it’s time we finally get to see his full potential. I thought he was one of the best-developed Ohio State receivers I’d seen in a long time. And Ohio State puts out receivers every year.

I’m a huge Garrett Wilson fan. I just think we’ve only scratched the surface of what he can become.

How Far Geno Smith Can Take the Jets

We’re about to find out. Geno has done a great job rebuilding his career. The last time he was with the Jets, things didn’t go well. Then he left, found himself, and now he’s back.

They’ve got a defensive-minded head coach, and adding someone like Demario Davis only strengthens that identity. Now it’ll come down to the offense.

I don’t think the Jets go 0-17, though. If Miami goes winless, the Jets have to beat them at least once since they’re in the same division. So we’ll definitely be watching.
