NBA Cup group play continues Friday with a loaded slate of games, including LeBron James and the Philadelphia 76ers (8-1) heading to Cleveland, Ohio, to face James’ former team, the Cavaliers (4-4), at 7:30 p.m. ET on Prime Video.
The Sixers already pulled off a historic comeback against Cleveland earlier this season, and now the two teams meet again at the Rocket Arena. Read below for 76ers vs. Cavaliers best player prop bets, predictions, and odds ahead of Friday night’s rematch.
76ers vs. Cavaliers Odds for NBA Cup
The Sixers enter Friday’s action with the best record in the NBA and have already beaten the Cavaliers this season. Despite being on the road, Philadelphia is listed as the favorite at Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook:
Best Player Prop Bets and Predictions for 76ers vs. Cavaliers
Use Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook’s Stats Hub to your advantage when placing wagers, just as we did to identify two of the best player prop bets for 76ers vs. Cavaliers in our basketball betting predictions below:
LeBron James Over 16.5 Points (-120)
LeBron James’ decision to join the Sixers is paying off so far, and while he’s averaging a career-low 15.7 points per game, he doesn’t have to be the main guy on this team. The role he’s been playing has been a winning formula, but he’s still more than capable of scoring whenever he takes the court.
Friday night’s matchup could mean a little more to LeBron, who’s facing the team he spent 11 years of his legendary career with across two stints. The game is also being played in Cleveland, not far from his hometown of Akron. He’s had plenty of success playing in Cleveland, and the Stats Hub highlights that James has scored 21 or more points in 17 of his last 18 appearances at the Rocket Arena.
LeBron already scored 17 points against the Cavaliers earlier this season in Philadelphia, and it wasn’t a particularly good shooting night for him. James shot just 35.7% from the field and 1-for-4 from three-point range, so if he can be more efficient Friday night, there’s no reason to believe he can’t score 17 or more points again.
It could also help LeBron that Cleveland is allowing 117.1 points per game this season, the eighth-most in the NBA.
- LeBron James Over 16.5 Points (-120)
James Harden Over 4.5 Rebounds (-140)
James Harden is averaging 5.3 rebounds per game through eight games this season and grabbed nine boards in his last game against Oklahoma City. He needs at least five for this pick to cash, and the Stats Hub notes that Harden has recorded four or more rebounds in 17 of his last 18 home appearances against former teams.
Harden was traded to Philadelphia during the 2021-22 season and played the following season with the Sixers before eventually being traded to the Los Angeles Clippers. He’s faced his former Philadelphia team several times since then, including once already this season.
Harden didn’t record five or more rebounds in the loss to Philadelphia on Oct. 22, finishing with just three. However, he could have more success Friday night against a Sixers team that’s allowing the fifth-most rebounds per game this season and owns a -5.1 rebounding differential.
- James Harden Over 4.5 Rebounds (-140)

76ers vs. Cavaliers Preview for NBA Cup Group Play
The new-look Sixers have lived up to expectations, entering with an NBA-best 8-1 record as they look to stay in the win column Friday night in their NBA Cup group play matchup against Cleveland. Philadelphia already beat the Cavaliers 114-106 on Oct. 22, completing a historic 29-point comeback that marked the largest in franchise history during the NBA’s play-by-play era.
Although the Sixers suffered their first and only loss of the season two games after that victory, Philadelphia has since won five consecutive games. The most recent was a 112-106 road win Wednesday against Detroit, the only team to beat the Sixers this season.
Jaylen Brown delivered his best scoring performance as a member of the Sixers in the win over Detroit, dropping a team-high 30 points while both LeBron James and Joel Embiid recorded double-doubles. All five Philadelphia starters scored in double figures, showing just how dangerous this team can be as the season progresses.
The blown lead and loss to Philadelphia on Oct. 22 came in Cleveland’s season opener. Although the Cavaliers responded with three straight wins, they’ve now lost three of their last four games. Cleveland faced Oklahoma City in back-to-back games on Monday and Wednesday this week, losing both.
The Cavaliers made things interesting late in Wednesday’s game after trailing 60-44 at halftime and 88-74 through three quarters. Cleveland scored 42 points in the fourth quarter but couldn’t slow down Oklahoma City’s offense, which put up 36 points in the final period to secure a 124-116 win.
Cavaliers starting center Jarrett Allen left Wednesday’s game with an apparent knee injury in the first quarter and did not return. He played just seven minutes, and his absence was a significant loss considering he’s averaging 13.3 points per game this season and ranks second on the team in both rebounds (7.8) and blocks (1.5) per game.
Allen is listed as questionable for Friday night’s game, along with Peyton Watson and Tyrese Proctor. Cavaliers guard Jaylon Tyson has already been ruled out with an ankle injury.
