The 2026 PGA Tour season reaches its conclusion this week as the top 30 players in the FedExCup standings head to East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia for the TOUR Championship. The third and final playoff event features a $40 million purse, with $10 million going to the winner along with the FedExCup title.
East Lake will play as a 7,440-yard par 70 for the no-cut finale. Unlike the Starting Strokes format used from 2019 through 2024, all 30 players will open the tournament at even par and compete over 72 holes of traditional stroke play. That puts the entire field on equal footing from Thursday’s opening round through Sunday’s finish.
Wyndham Clark claimed the second playoff event at last week’s BMW Championship, finishing 17-under after opening with rounds of 64, 64 and 65 at Bellerive Country Club. Clark carried a five-shot advantage into Sunday before the lead disappeared during an uneven final round, but he responded by making birdie on each of the final three holes to defeat Patrick Cantlay by three strokes. Rory McIlroy finished another shot back in third.
That victory gives Clark three wins this season and places him among the leading contenders at East Lake, although Scottie Scheffler once again occupies his familiar position at the top of the odds board.
The Favorite
Scheffler (+325) opens as the favorite at Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook, with a considerable gap separating the World No. 1 from every other player in the field.
His dominant eight-shot victory at the FedEx St. Jude Championship gave him the perfect start to the postseason, although he couldn’t produce the same result at Bellerive. Scheffler still managed to finish T12 at 7-under in the BMW Championship despite reportedly battling an illness all weekend.
East Lake has consistently brought out some of Scheffler’s best golf. He won the TOUR Championship in 2024 and has recorded five top-six finishes across his last six appearances, including four in a row entering this year’s rendition.
The Contenders
McIlroy (+900) owns the second-shortest odds this week following his third-place performance at Bellerive. Few players can match McIlroy’s history at East Lake: the three-time champion won here in 2016, 2019 and 2022 and has finished inside the top 10 in nine of his 12 appearances.
Xander Schauffele follows at +1400, returning to East Lake after missing last year’s field. Schauffele won the TOUR Championship during his debut appearance in 2017 and has never finished worse than T7 in eight starts at the course. Seven of those appearances resulted in top-five finishes, including runner-up performances in 2019, 2020 and 2023.
Ludvig Åberg stands alone at +1600, followed by Clark, Matt Fitzpatrick, Sam Burns, Cantlay, Collin Morikawa and Cameron Young at +1750.
Clark has significantly less East Lake experience than Rory or Xander, but the results have been encouraging. He finished third in his 2023 debut and eighth the following season, giving him two top-eight results in as many appearances before missing last year’s finale.
Cantlay arrives with considerable momentum after finishing second to Clark at the BMW Championship. He birdied each of his final three holes Sunday to close with a 68 and secure his place at East Lake after entering the week outside the top 30. Cantlay won the TOUR Championship in 2021 and finished T2 behind Tommy Fleetwood last year, giving him four finishes of seventh or better across his last five appearances.
Burns has finished inside the top 12 in each of the last three TOUR Championships, improving to T7 last season. He also opened the playoffs with a T3 finish at the FedEx St. Jude Championship before a disappointing T28 at Bellerive this past weekend.
Morikawa enters the week after tying for fourth at Bellerive, where a final-round 68 moved him to 12-under. His East Lake results have been less consistent, but he has recorded three top-six finishes in six appearances and finished second to Scheffler in 2024.
Other Notables to Consider
Fleetwood (+2000) returns as the defending champion after earning his long-awaited first PGA Tour victory at East Lake last season. His final tune-up before the title defense was far less encouraging, however. Fleetwood shot a 74 during Saturday’s third round at Bellerive and finished T47 at 2-over, resulting in one of his most difficult weekends in recent memory.
Chris Gotterup (+2000) played his way into the mix at Bellerive, tying Gary Woodland and Morikawa for fourth at 12-under. He now heads to Atlanta with the same odds to win as the defending champion.
The 30-1 tier features veterans Hideki Matsuyama, Viktor Hovland and Russell Henley. Hovland won at East Lake in 2023 and has finished 12th or better in four of his last five appearances.
Several players deeper on the board earned their spots in Atlanta with timely performances at the BMW Championship. Woodland (+5000) climbed into the top 30 with his T4 finish, while Robert MacIntyre (+5000) closed with a 65 to finish T7. Both entered Bellerive outside the TOUR Championship cutoff.
Other players available at +5000 include Justin Rose, J.J. Spaun, Tom Kim, Jacob Bridgeman and Ryan Gerard. Adam Scott, Min Woo Lee and Alex Smalley follow at +6000.
