Nikola Jokić is in the 12th year of his NBA career, and the three-time MVP is off to another solid start. Jokić didn’t shoot particularly well in the Nuggets’ season opener against Oklahoma City, going just 1-for-7 from three-point range, but the big man responded with a strong performance in Saturday’s win over New Orleans.
Jokić helped lead Denver to a comeback victory in overtime against the Pelicans, scoring 35 points in 44 minutes as part of a triple-double. It was a much more Jokić-like performance, and he also knocked down three of his 10 attempts from beyond the arc.
While his 23.5% three-point shooting percentage isn’t particularly impressive to start the season, Jokić has attempted 17 threes through two games, so there should be plenty of opportunities for him to make at least two Monday night. The Stats Hub also notes that Jokić has made two or more three-pointers in eight consecutive games against the Warriors.

Draymond Green Over 5.5 Assists (-150)
Draymond Green may not be the player he once was, but the 36-year-old remains an important piece for the Warriors. He hasn’t contributed much offensively in terms of scoring this season and missed Golden State’s previous game against Phoenix due to lower back soreness. However, he’s expected to return Monday night and resume his role as a facilitator in the offense.
The Stats Hub notes that Green has recorded six or more assists in nine consecutive games dating back to last season. He posted a team-high eight assists in the season opener against the Los Angeles Lakers and shared the team lead with six against Memphis.

Warriors vs. Nuggets Preview for Monday Night
The Warriors are still searching for their first win of the 2026-27 NBA season and will look to get it Monday night on the road against Nikola Jokić and the Nuggets. Golden State was without veterans Stephen Curry and Draymond Green in Saturday’s loss to Phoenix, but both are expected to return for this Western Conference matchup.
The Warriors had no answer for Suns guard Devin Booker, who torched them for 43 points while shooting 68% from the field in Phoenix’s 131-122 win. Rookie forward Yaxel Lendeborg stepped up with Curry sidelined, leading Golden State with 26 points while shooting 6-for-11 from three-point range. De’Anthony Melton also delivered a strong performance off the bench with 25 points in 27 minutes, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win.
The Nuggets suffered a tough 12-point road loss to Oklahoma City to open the season, and things weren’t looking much better in their home opener against New Orleans on Saturday. Denver trailed 108-89 after the third quarter but outscored the Pelicans 37-18 in the fourth to force overtime.
The Nuggets went on to win 141-135, thanks largely to Jamal Murray’s team-high 42 points and Nikola Jokić’s triple-double. Denver will look to carry that momentum into Monday night, climb above .500, and keep Golden State winless on the season.
