Florida Atlantic vs. UTSA Best Bet: Over 72.5 Points (-115)
UTSA and FAU both feature high-powered offenses, and luckily for this pick, neither team necessarily has an elite defense. The Roadrunners are averaging 33.5 points and 409.3 total yards of offense per game this season, while the Owls are averaging an even better 37.8 points and 440 total yards per game.
FAU is led by quarterback Caden Veltkamp, who has thrown 23 touchdown passes and just five interceptions in 2026. His favorite target has been wide receiver Easton Messer, who leads the conference with 74 receptions and 898 receiving yards. Messer is also tied for the third-most total touchdowns in the American with 13, including receiving, rushing, and return scores.
The Owls’ other top receiver, Kelby Valsin, ranks second in the conference in receptions (60), third in receiving yards (752), and has six receiving touchdowns this year.
The Roadrunners’ offense is largely powered by its run game, with running back Will Henderson III leading the way with 664 rushing yards. Fellow UTSA running back A’Marion Peterson doesn’t have quite as many yards, but he’s averaging 6.2 yards per carry and has 11 total touchdowns, including 10 rushing scores this year. This could prove to be the difference-maker Thursday night against an FAU defense that is allowing 255.1 rushing yards per game.
It’s also worth mentioning that UTSA is allowing 26 points per game this season, while FAU is allowing 35.8 points per game, including 51 per contest over its last three games.
- Florida Atlantic vs. UTSA Total Pick for Nov. 5: Over 72.5 Points (-115)

UTSA vs. Florida Atlantic Preview for Thursday Night
UTSA is one of two teams remaining with an undefeated American Conference record, along with North Texas, but the Roadrunners have a better overall record of 7-1 entering Week 10. UTSA is looking to keep it that way and improve to a perfect 5-0 in conference play as it eyes a championship game appearance with the season winding down.
The Roadrunners started the 2026 season 2-0 before suffering a 30-6 loss to then-No. 1 and current No. 7 Texas on Sept. 19. Since then, UTSA has responded with five consecutive wins and will look to make it six in a row Thursday night.
UTSA’s most recent win was a 42-19 blowout against Tulane on Oct. 24, but it wasn’t the prettiest of victories. Quarterback Owen McCown threw a pick-six on the game’s opening play and later threw another interception right before halftime that led to a Tulane field goal.
The Roadrunners turned the ball over three times in that game but were fortunate to force six turnovers of their own. The run game also carried the offense with 223 rushing yards and six touchdowns.
Florida Atlantic is also enjoying a solid season, but after four straight wins earlier this year, the Owls have now lost two of their last three games. The offense hasn’t been the problem, as it’s been an explosive unit, particularly in the passing game. Instead, it’s the defense that hasn’t been playing up to par lately.
The Owls were allowing 16.8 points per game during their four-game winning streak earlier this year but are now allowing 51 points per game over their last three contests. They lost 56-24 to Army on Oct. 17, beat a one-win Rice team 51-49 in a high-scoring affair, and then lost 48-41 to North Texas last week.
Both teams need to tighten up and limit their mistakes Thursday night, but it should be a fun one regardless.
