The 2026 World Cup continues Saturday with another three matches on the schedule. Qatar and Switzerland kick off the day’s action at 3 p.m. ET in a Group B showdown.

Having not won a match since a 2-1 victory over the United Arab Emirates on Oct. 14 in AFC World Cup qualifying, Qatar enters the tournament as one of the biggest long shots to lift the trophy. Qatar is 0-1-2 over its last three matches, with its most recent result being a 0-0 draw against El Salvador in an international friendly on June 6.

Switzerland, meanwhile, enters the tournament with considerably higher expectations. The Swiss are 5-4-1 in their last 10 matches dating back to September, including four wins and two draws in UEFA World Cup qualifying. Switzerland also looked sharp in its final World Cup tune-ups, defeating Jordan 4-1 before playing Australia to a 1-1 draw.

This marks just the second World Cup appearance for Qatar, which made its tournament debut in 2022 as the host nation. Qatar will be looking for a stronger showing this time around after losing all three group-stage matches in its first appearance.

For Switzerland, 2026 marks its 13th World Cup appearance and sixth consecutive qualification. While the Swiss have become a regular presence on the international stage, they have been eliminated in the Round of 16 at each of the last three World Cups and have not reached the quarter-finals since 1954.

Qatar vs. Switzerland Best Bet: Both Teams to Score – No

While backing Switzerland to win is certainly an option, the odds are fairly steep at -475. The “Both Teams to Score – No” market provides a bit more value at -200 while still aligning with the expected game script.

As noted in the Stats Hub, the “Both Teams to Score” market has failed to cash during regulation in each of Switzerland’s last four World Cup day matches. While Switzerland is expected to create scoring opportunities on Saturday, there are legitimate questions surrounding Qatar’s ability to contribute offensively.

Qatar failed to score in either of its two World Cup tune-up matches. In fact, the nation scored just one goal during its entire 2022 World Cup campaign before finishing last in its group.
