Out with the old and in with the new as the Buffalo Bills (1-0) prepare to play their first game at the brand-new Highmark Stadium in a Week 2 Thursday Night Football showdown against the Detroit Lions (1-0). Both teams found themselves in tightly contested, high-scoring games in Week 1, with the Bills surviving Houston on the road and the Lions coming away with a narrow one-point overtime win against New Orleans at Ford Field.
There won’t be a lack of offensive firepower Thursday night in Orchard Park, as both the Lions and Bills ranked in the top five in total offense in 2025 and have begun the new NFL season with a bang as well. With the likes of Jahmyr Gibbs, James Cook III, Amon-Ra St. Brown, DJ Moore, Jameson Williams, Jared Goff, and 2024 MVP Josh Allen all taking the field, there are plenty of exciting ways to get involved in Thursday night’s game at Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook, particularly in the player prop markets.

Jahmyr Gibbs First Touchdown Scorer (+375)
Jahmyr Gibbs is one of the top running backs in the league, if not the best, and he’s also one of the most skilled and dynamic players in the entire NFL. In case you missed it, the fourth-year back picked up right where he left off last season, rushing for 156 yards and two touchdowns in the Lions’ Week 1 win over New Orleans while also recording 30 receiving yards.
With his first touchdown in the win over New Orleans, Gibbs became just the sixth player in NFL history with 50 or more touchdowns in his first 50 career games, joining Jim Brown, Marcus Allen, Chuck Foreman, Steve Van Buren, and Larry Johnson, three of whom are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He now has 51 career touchdowns in 50 regular-season games, including 41 rushing and 10 receiving, further showing just how explosive he is whether he’s running the ball or catching it.
It’s worth noting how Buffalo’s defense handled the running back position in its Week 1 win over Houston. Gibbs’ former teammate, David Montgomery, averaged just three yards per carry on 20 attempts against the Bills, but he scored two rushing touchdowns and caught another through the air.
You may remember the duo’s nickname from their playing days together in Detroit, “Sonic and Knuckles,” with Gibbs being “Sonic” because of his elite speed and explosiveness. However, Gibbs can also be a physical runner like Montgomery, making him a dangerous weapon whenever the ball is in his hands.
The Stats Hub notes that Gibbs has scored the first touchdown in each of the Lions’ last two games. If you want to play it a little safer, you could always check out the anytime touchdown market and take Gibbs at -275. And for what it’s worth, Montgomery was the first touchdown scorer in Week 1 against the Bills with his one-yard run at the end of the first quarter.

Amon-Ra St. Brown Over 80.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
Sticking with the Lions and one of Gibbs’ teammates, the Stats Hub notes that wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown has recorded 122 or more receiving yards in each of the Lions’ last two games against the Bills. Those two games are the only times St. Brown has faced Buffalo in his career, and he was a major factor in both.
In his first career matchup against the Bills, St. Brown had nine catches on 10 targets for 122 yards and one touchdown in a 28-25 loss during the 2022 season. More recently, he recorded 14 catches on 18 targets for 193 yards and one touchdown in a 48-42 loss in 2024. Obviously, the teams are different from what they were in those previous meetings, but there’s been at least one constant for St. Brown: Jared Goff has been his quarterback each time.
St. Brown has already gotten his 2026-27 season off to a solid start, catching 10 passes for 67 yards and two touchdowns while being targeted 14 times by Goff in the Week 1 overtime win over New Orleans. It’s also worth mentioning that the Bills’ defense gave up 274 receiving yards against Houston in Week 1, with Houston’s No. 1 receiver, Nico Collins, leading the team with seven catches on 10 targets for 75 yards.

DJ Moore Over 65.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
DJ Moore has put together a very respectable career, spending his first five seasons in Carolina, where he recorded three 1,000-yard campaigns, before a three-year stint in Chicago in which he accumulated 3,012 receiving yards and 22 total touchdowns, including 1,364 receiving yards in 2023.
Moore was traded to the Bills back in March, where he now gets to play with one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL in Josh Allen. The duo instantly clicked in Week 1 against Houston, with Moore catching five passes for 100 yards and a 43-yard touchdown.
Like we did with the Bills’ defense, it’s also worth looking at how Detroit’s defense performed in Week 1. The Lions gave up 410 receiving yards against New Orleans. Granted, Saints quarterback Tyler Shough attempted a very high 56 passes, but that’s still a ton of yards. Chris Olave led New Orleans with 10 catches on 13 targets for 182 yards, including a long of 47 yards, and was one of six Saints players to record more than 30 receiving yards.
Moore may not record 182 receiving yards, but the Stats Hub does note that the veteran has recorded 64 or more receiving yards in four of his last five appearances when his team entered as the favorite, as the Bills do against the Lions on Thursday night.
