Los Angeles returns home after clinching its fifth consecutive NL West championship with Thursday’s 8-2 victory over Cincinnati. The Dodgers had already secured their 14th straight postseason appearance earlier in the week, but their remaining games still carry seeding implications.
At 93-60, the Dodgers trail Milwaukee by two games for the National League’s best record and lead Atlanta by four games for the second seed. The top two division winners receive first-round byes, giving Los Angeles an incentive to continue adding wins even after wrapping up the division.
San Francisco enters the series at 64-89 after winning two straight games to take its road series against St. Louis. The Giants have been eliminated from postseason contention and are only 28-50 away from home, but they have won four of their seven meetings with the Dodgers this season.
Tyler Glasnow gets the start for Los Angeles with a 4-1 record, 3.50 ERA and 0.97 WHIP. He is looking to recover from consecutive four-run outings, but his previous appearance against San Francisco was considerably stronger. Glasnow tossed eight scoreless innings and struck out nine in a 3-0 victory at Oracle Park on April 23.
The Giants counter with rookie left-hander Cesar Perdomo, who owns a 3.68 ERA through his first three major-league appearances. Perdomo delivered six scoreless innings against the Mets in his first start before San Diego tagged him for five runs and 10 hits across 4.2 innings Saturday.

Perdomo carries some risk after struggling against the Padres, but the rookie showed his ability to navigate a Major League lineup when he held the Mets scoreless for six innings in his first career start.
