Florida State Win Total Prediction: Over/Under 6.5 Wins with Full Schedule Breakdown

The Florida State Seminoles start their 2026 college football season Saturday in Week 0 against New Mexico State. With the season here, the boys and I went game by game through Florida State’s schedule to give you our ultimate predictions for the Seminoles in 2026.

Some of these games are layups. Others are considerably harder to call, especially during a difficult middle stretch that sends Florida State to Louisville and Miami before a Halloween matchup with Clemson.

Florida State 2026 Football Schedule Predictions

The current over/under on Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook for the 2026 Noles sits at 6.5 wins – below we’ll break down every game and see where we land.

New Mexico State at Florida State Prediction (Aug. 29)

Let’s start with a layup. New Mexico State comes to Tallahassee for Florida State’s Week 0 opener, and we are not going to overthink this one. Florida State gets the win and starts the season 1–0.

• Prediction: Florida State win (1-0)

SMU at Florida State Prediction (Sep. 7)

Florida State does not get to ease its way into conference play, with SMU coming to town on Labor Day night. Miami went down in Fort Worth against SMU last season, and Kevin Jennings is a daggum good football player. This should be an interesting quarterback battle that I think a lot of people may be sleeping on.

The best thing Florida State has going for it is the setting. The game is already slotted for 7:30 p.m. on ESPN, it is the ACC opener, and it is isolated on Monday night. I expect the fan base to show up.

The Seminoles also get what should be a comfortable warmup against an inferior New Mexico State team the week before, so there should be some excitement around the program.

Florida State has a real chance to win this game at home, and it would not shock me if the Seminoles pulled it off. But when we put it to a vote, we landed on SMU. As the homie Lee Corso might say, though, this will be closer than the experts think.

• Prediction: SMU win (1-1)

Florida State at Alabama Prediction (Sep. 19)

Next comes the big one: a trip to Tuscaloosa to face Alabama.

Florida State shocked the world last season, beating Alabama 31–17 in Tallahassee after all the talk from Thomas Castellanos. That upset is also why I expect Alabama to be ready for this rematch with something to prove.

The circumstances are different this time. Last year’s game was rainy and disgusting, which played into Florida State’s hands. The Seminoles will not have that same advantage in Tuscaloosa.

This could still be one of the first Power Four starts for Alabama quarterback Keelon Russell, so perhaps Florida State can force him into a couple of turnovers. However, the Crimson Tide are still the pick.

I do think Ashton Daniels is an upgrade for Florida State at quarterback. A year ago, plenty of people expected Alabama to wax the Seminoles because Florida State was so down bad. The Seminoles will receive more respect this time.

I was a big Gus Malzahn guy in 2014. The problem was that the offense still felt very 2014-ish in 2025. With Tim Harris Jr. taking over the offensive coordinator job, it will be interesting to see how Florida State utilizes the skill sets of Daniels, Duce Robinson and Ousmane Kromah.

Even so, I am giving Alabama the win at home.

• Prediction: Alabama win (1-2)

Central Arkansas at Florida State Prediction (Sep. 26)

Central Arkansas comes to town the following week. That is another dub. Florida State moves to two wins without much discussion needed.

• Prediction: Florida State win (2-2)

Virginia at Florida State Prediction (Oct. 3)

This is where the schedule gets tricky again. Last year’s Virginia game was played on a Friday night, and ACC games on Friday nights tend to get a little funky. This year, Florida State gets the Cavaliers at home.

There has been plenty of positive talk about Virginia entering the season. The Cavaliers won several close games last year, but they are also replacing 14 starters. I am having a hard time buying all the hype.

I have watched Beau Pribula before. He is okay, but it is nothing to behold in my opinion. Give me Ashton Daniels in that quarterback battle.

Even when Virginia beat Florida State last season, I thought the Cavaliers were outmatched from a talent standpoint. I do not believe Virginia is a substantially better football team this year, and now the game is in Tallahassee.

Give me Florida State.

• Prediction: Florida State win (3-2)

Florida State at Louisville Prediction (Oct. 9)

Now we reach the meat of the schedule. Florida State goes to Louisville, then Miami, before returning home to play Clemson.

Louisville is a difficult road game. I have questions about Lincoln Kienholz simply because we have not seen much of him, but Jeff Brohm is a really good football coach. Louisville has remained competitive and has been one of the better teams in the ACC over the last few seasons.

From a talent standpoint, Louisville may have a slight edge. I also think Brohm is the better head coach right now in 2026, and playing at home gives the Cardinals another advantage.

I was willing to pick Florida State here, but the boys overrode me by a 2–1 vote. As a show, we have to take Louisville.

• Prediction: Louisville win (3-3)

Florida State at Miami Prediction (Oct. 17)

Florida State then gets eight days before traveling to Miami for a major rivalry game.

Unfortunately for the Seminoles, they look outmatched here. Miami is the front-runner in the ACC and has the most talented roster in the conference on paper. There is a lot to love about the Hurricanes, particularly an offense that will be difficult to stop.

I like some of Florida State’s offensive pieces. Daniels, Robinson, Quintrevion Wisner and Kromah give the Seminoles an intriguing core of playmakers. But there are still questions defensively, and Miami presents a lot to handle.

Weird things happen in rivalry games. Florida State’s backdoor cover against Miami last season was wild enough, and I think this game could be closer than many people anticipate.

Ultimately, though, the Seminoles are outmatched.

• Prediction: Miami win (3-4)

Clemson at Florida State Prediction (Oct. 31)

It is difficult to predict Clemson football right now because the quarterback situation has remained a question. Christopher Vizzina is the expected starter, but Tait Reynolds made that battle more interesting than many anticipated coming out of the spring.

That makes it hard to sit here in August and predict a spooky Halloween matchup. Clemson should be better offensively than some people expect and has good receivers, but the Tigers lost some big-time players on defense.

Florida State has enough good offensive players to take advantage. The Seminoles also get an open week before this game, while Clemson does not. That scheduling advantage matters.

Clemson has won nine of the last 10 meetings, including games in which Florida State had the more talented team. This should be close, but two of our three votes went to the Seminoles at home.

• Prediction: Florida State win (4-4)

Florida State at Boston College Prediction (Nov. 7)

Florida State then travels to Massachusetts, but Boston College could be licking a lot of wounds by this point in the season.

Things have not gone especially well for Bill O’Brien there, and the Eagles have struggled to find consistency. You could say some of the same things about Florida State, but I expect the Seminoles to carry more momentum into November—especially after our projected win over Clemson.

I am comfortable giving Florida State a road win here.

• Prediction: Florida State win (5-4)

Florida State at Pitt Prediction (Nov. 13)

Pitt is always one of those teams you assume will be sound. The Panthers are like the ACC’s Minnesota Golden Gophers.

They should be fundamentally solid and reliable defensively. The question is what the offense looks like.

This is another Friday night ACC game, making it particularly difficult to predict in November. Florida State has an unusual schedule with three Friday games and a Monday night matchup, so the Seminoles will spend a lot of time outside the traditional Saturday window.

My initial instinct was that Pitt would barely eke this one out. But after talking it through, I was swayed. Florida State should build some momentum following the Boston College game and find a way to win another difficult road matchup.

NC State at Florida State Prediction (Nov. 21)

NC State quarterback CJ Bailey is a good football player, and this will be something of a homecoming for a South Florida kid. He should have plenty of people in attendance when the Wolfpack visit Tallahassee.

This matchup may ultimately come down to what the two teams look like in late November. There is a chance both are struggling by this point and trying to determine who still cares enough to finish the season properly.

There is a lot to like about Bailey, although NC State lost some important offensive pieces and may place more pressure on his shoulders.

Florida State needs a rallying point somewhere in the season, whether Mike Norvell is fighting to keep his job or the Seminoles are simply trying to finish the ACC schedule strongly.

I think Florida State pulls it out.

• Prediction: Florida State win (7-4)

Florida at Florida State Prediction (Nov. 27)

Florida State finishes the regular season at home against rival Florida on the Friday after Thanksgiving.

I am a big Jon Sumrall guy and a big Buster Faulkner guy. I will not say Florida rolls because rivalry games can get strange, but the Gators simply have too much talent for Florida State to overcome right now.

Florida should be excellent on the defensive line and has quality wide receivers. We will see what happens with Aaron Philo at quarterback, but the Gators also have an excellent running back in Jadan Baugh.

There is a lot for Florida State to handle offensively, and I expect Florida’s defense to be solid as well.

Anything can happen during rivalry week, but I have Florida winning.
