A bettor in Coral Springs, Florida pulled off one of the most remarkable MLB bets we’ve ever seen on Friday, turning a $30.11 wager into a massive $1,980,043.01 payout on Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook thanks to a successful 6-leg home run parlay.
This massive parlay ticket needed home runs from Jazz Chisholm (Yankees), Nick Kurtz (A’s), Riley Greene (Tigers), Coby Mayo (Orioles), Jesús Sánchez (Blue Jays), and Bryce Harper (Phillies), which combined for total odds of +6576031. Each selection on its own presented a challenge; but combined, the ticket required a near-perfect storm of power hitting across multiple games.
That storm arrived.
The $2 Million Home Run Parlay
All six legs for this parlay were from MLB games on Friday, April 24th. They were:
- Riley Greene Over 0.5 Home Runs +475 ✅
- Coby Mayo Over 0.5 Home Runs +800 ✅
- Jesús Sánchez Over 0.5 Home Runs +700 ✅
- Bryce Harper Over 0.5 Home Runs +475 ✅
- Nick Kurtz Over 0.5 Home Runs +325 ✅
- Jazz Chisholm Jr Over 0.5 Home Runs +550 ✅
While there are a lot of remarkable elements to this story – the fact that our hero managed to turn $30 into nearly $2 million with just a six-leg ticket is certainly near the top. Often times when we see enormous wins like this they come on a much longer bet slip. For example, when a bettor turned $1 into $344K last December it took 20 bets… but that’s the nature of Home Run bets – the longer odds can stack quickly.
Sweating a $2 Million Parlay Win
Our Florida bettor locked in the parlay just after 7:00am ET on the morning of Friday, April 24th, kicking off one of the most legendary sports betting sweats of all time. There were no Same Game Parlays on the card here, with six different home run picks from six different game strewn across the evening MLB slate. Below we break it all down in chronological order.
Riley Green Anytime Home Run +475
The first game to kick off was the Detroit Tigers visiting the Cincinnati Reds with the first pitch at 6:40 pm ET, and it was a hot start for this longshot parlay. Riley Greene smashed one over the center field fence with one out in the second inning. The bet was officially one for one.
Jesús Sánchez Anytime Home Run +700
The hot start carried over to the Guardians vs Jays game that began just after 7:00pm ET. Jesús Sánchez launched a 422 foot shot over the center field fence in the bottom of the first to officially cash the second of the six legs.
Nick Kurtz Anytime Home Run +325
The shortest odds of any leg on the ticket belonged to Athletics star Nick Kurtz at +325… and boy did he deliver. The A’s and Rangers started their game at 8:05pm ET and the sweat lasted just one pitch. Leading off in the top of the first inning Kurtz caught up with a Nathan Eovaldi fastball and sent it sailing out to right field. We’re looking really good here at three for three.
Bryce Harper Anytime Home Run +475
Bet number four required Phillies slugger Bryce Harper to go yard against the Atlanta Braves. The game began at 7:15 pm ET with Harper striking out swinging in both the first and third innings. However, leading off the fifth inning Harper stepped into the batters box, took two balls, and then connected with a four-seam fastball and sent it over the fence in left center. Cash it – the parlay was officially four for four and very live for the $1.98M.
Coby Mayo Anytime Home Run +800
Next up? Coby Mayo and the Orioles, which came with the longest odds on the ticket at +800. After homering in two straight games entering Friday’s contest our bettor saw a hitter getting hot and an attractive +800 price. On his third trip to the plate, Mayo knocked one over the fence in left center. Dreamland… the bet was officially five for five and just one home run away from minting a millionaire.
Jazz Chisholm Jr. Anytime Home Run +550
After a flurry of home runs our bettor was just one leg away from $2 million: everything would come down to Jazz Chisholm Jr. of the New York Yankees. Yanks-Astros got underway at 8:10pm ET with Chisholm hitting out of the six-hole. During his first trip to the plate in the top of the first he singled in two runs – great for the Yankees – but not for home run bettors.
Chisholm’s second trip to the plate came as the lead off man in the top of the fourth. He took a ball on the first pitch, and then watched a strike sail past on the second to even the count at 1 and 1… and then it happened. Changeup. Right down the middle. Astro’s pitcher Lance McCullers missed and Chisholm made no mistake, sending his second home run of the season deep to right field and cashing this remarkable parlay bet in the process.
Millionaire Bettor Made in 2 Hours
In total just over two hours elapsed between Riley Greene’s home run for the Tigers at 7:11pm ET – the first leg to cash, and Jazz Chisholm Jr.’s shot for the Yankees at 9:15pm ET. Two hours for a pipe dream with +6576031 odds to turn into a life changing success story. That’s baseball for you. Congrats to the bettor!
