With the 2026 WNBA season set to tip off tomorrow night, legend of the game Sheryl Swoopes hopped on the pod to talk early title predictions, Caitlin Clark’s MVP chances, and why the Indiana Fever might be one of the most dangerous teams in the league this year.

We got into it by asking Sheryl which teams she thinks have the best shot to win it all this year.

Well, I mean the Aces are the defending champions, so you can’t ever go against them.

If New York can stay healthy, I like New York.

But I’m gonna tell you a team – and I said this last year, but they had so many injuries – the Indiana Fever.

Indiana, they got the pieces.

Then we shifted to Caitlin Clark and whether she can realistically win the league MVP this season.

She’s gotta go and take it from A’ja Wilson.

A’ja ain’t just going to let it go like that.

But if Caitlin can stay healthy, I think she has a really good shot.

Why the Fever Can Win It All

The Fever became the focal point of the show – especially after retaining key pieces and adding more talent around Clark and Aliyah Boston. Sheryl opened up on why she thinks they have a path to winning a championship this season.

I think Indiana has a really good shot to win a championship because they re-signed Kelsey Mitchell, which to me was perfect.

You got Aliyah Boston. You got Caitlin if she can stay healthy.

Lexie Hull is a key part of what they do defensively.

And I absolutely loved their draft pick, Raven Johnson.

I think Raven’s a true point guard and to me, one of the best parts of Caitlin’s game is her passing ability.

But I think when she’s playing off the ball, she’s more effective. That’s when she is really good at scoring, and Raven Johnson running the point can move Caitlin off the ball.

And when Caitlin has the ball in her hands, everybody just kind of stands around and they’re like, “Let’s see what she’s gonna do.”

When she’s playing off the ball and you have a true point guard like Raven, there’s going to be a lot of movement.

You gotta guard Caitlin, Kelsey, Aliyah – whoever that fourth player is going to be.

I like the pieces that they got. They will absolutely make some noise.
