Akron vs. Ohio Best Bet: Ohio -12.5 (-115)

There’s a reason Ohio is so heavily favored on the road Tuesday night. The Bobcats are simply the better team this season.

Ohio is averaging 29.6 points per game and has scored 29 total touchdowns in 2026. The run game has been dominant, accounting for 15 touchdowns while averaging nearly 200 yards per game. Quarterback Nick Poulos, who missed some time due to a concussion earlier this season, is also playing good football and has yet to throw an interception this year.

The Bobcats’ offense hasn’t been the only reason why they’re in first place in the MAC. Ohio is allowing 21.9 points per game, and while the Bobcats won by only four points in their last game against Eastern Michigan on Oct. 24, they previously beat Sacramento State by 41 and Central Michigan by 17.

Akron, on the other hand, hasn’t enjoyed that kind of success this season. The Zips are averaging just 19 points per game and an even worse 15.2 during their current six-game losing streak.

Zips quarterback Brayden Roggow has thrown seven touchdowns and nine interceptions this season, and Akron has lost by 15 or more points in each of its last two games. Running back Jordan Gant has been one of the few bright spots on offense this year, with 618 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns while averaging 4.9 yards per carry.

Despite Akron’s loss to Kent State in its most recent game, Gant rushed for 162 yards and two touchdowns. He’ll likely need another big performance Tuesday night to give the Zips a chance to win.

  • Akron vs. Ohio Spread Pick for Nov. 3: Ohio -12.5 (-115)

Ohio vs. Akron Preview for CFB Week 10

Ohio sits atop the MAC standings with a perfect 4-0 conference record and will look to extend its winning streak to six games with a victory over last-place Akron Tuesday night. The streak nearly came to an end in a close matchup against Eastern Michigan in Ohio’s last game on Oct. 24, but the Bobcats survived with a 24-20 win thanks to some late heroics.

The Bobcats fell behind 20-17 with under four minutes remaining after Eastern Michigan put together a 98-yard touchdown drive. However, Darren James-Hamilton returned the ensuing kickoff for a 100-yard touchdown to put Ohio up 24-20, and the defense took care of the rest to secure the victory.

Akron wasn’t as fortunate in its last game, which ended in a 35-20 loss to Kent State on Oct. 24. The defeat was Akron’s sixth in a row and dropped the Zips to 0-4 in MAC play.

It wasn’t all bad for Akron against Kent State. The Zips totaled 422 yards of offense, held possession for just over eight minutes longer than their opponent, converted more than 50% of their third downs, and had both a 100-yard rusher and receiver.

The loss was largely due to the Zips turning the ball over twice, committing 15 penalties, and allowing five total touchdowns to Kent State quarterback Dru DeShields.

The Zips will return home Tuesday night after back-to-back road games, but unfortunately for them, they’ll be going up against the first-place Bobcats.
