Miami (OH) vs. Buffalo Best Bet: Buffalo +6.5 (-115)

Neither team has been blowing out opponents in its wins this season, and neither side has been on the wrong end of too many blowouts either. With both Buffalo and Miami (OH) entering on three-game winning streaks and needing a victory to keep pace with the top teams in the conference, Tuesday night’s matchup could be a close one.

So what were the deciding factors in taking Buffalo on the spread? Two of the RedHawks’ last three wins have been by one point, while the other victory during their current streak was a 20-point win against last-place Akron.

There’s also a common opponent factor here. Both teams have already played Bowling Green and Massachusetts this season. Buffalo beat both teams, while Miami (OH) lost 24-20 to Bowling Green on Oct. 3 before beating Massachusetts 20-19 the following week in one of those one-point victories we already mentioned.

Buffalo could very well win this game, but at the very least, the Bulls should be able to keep it close.

  • Miami (OH) vs. Buffalo Spread Pick for Nov. 3: Buffalo +6.5 (-115)

Buffalo vs. Miami (OH) Preview for Tuesday Night

The 2026 college football season is winding down, and the conference championship races are heating up. With Buffalo and Miami (OH) owning identical records and fighting for one of the top spots in the MAC with only four games remaining for each program, Tuesday night’s matchup in Oxford is almost as big as it gets at this point in the season.

Buffalo has flipped the script after a 2-3 start to the year and has now won three consecutive games to put itself in this position. The Bulls’ most recent win came a little over a week ago in a 31-24 victory against Bowling Green.

It was a rather pedestrian performance by Bulls quarterback Jason Wright in that win over Bowling Green, but running back Messiah Burch stole the show. Burch, who leads the MAC with 151 rushing attempts and 845 rushing yards this season, carried the ball 33 times for 184 yards and three touchdowns. His 73-yard score early in the fourth quarter gave Buffalo a 31-21 lead.

Miami (OH) also last played a little over a week ago on Oct. 24, stealing a 28-27 road victory against Central Michigan to extend its winning streak to three games. It wasn’t the best performance by RedHawks quarterback Caleb Heavner, who threw two interceptions, but he did rush for a touchdown and connected with wide receiver Maleek Huggins seven times for 122 yards.

Central Michigan made a 22-yard field goal to extend its lead to 27-21 with 4:17 remaining, and despite three quick and inefficient possessions before that, Miami (OH) responded when it mattered most.

The RedHawks put together an eight-play, 75-yard touchdown drive capped by a two-yard rushing touchdown from running back D’Shawntae Jones and a successful extra point from Kellan McLaughlin to take a 28-27 lead with under two minutes remaining. The RedHawks’ defense then forced a turnover on downs to complete the comeback win.
