The No. 17 Iowa Hawkeyes (3-0, 0-0 Big Ten) head to Ann Arbor, Michigan, to take on the No. 18 Michigan Wolverines (3-0, 0-0 Big Ten) as both teams open conference play in a massive Week 4 college football matchup with a 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff Saturday afternoon.
Michigan has had an interesting start to the season, to say the least, after escaping with a controversial 13-12 Week 1 win over Western Michigan, followed by a low-scoring 17-10 victory against then-No. 11 Oklahoma despite the Sooners making things close in the second half.
Things weren’t necessarily pretty for Michigan through the first two weeks, and after a somewhat tough first half against UTEP last Saturday in which the Wolverines turned the ball over twice and took just a 17-14 lead into halftime, they blew things open in the second half. Michigan scored 28 third-quarter points en route to a 52-17 win to improve to 3-0.
Iowa opened its season with a 40-0 shutout win over Northern Illinois but then found itself in a tight matchup against Iowa State in Week 2 that the Hawkeyes managed to squeak out a 16-13 win. Iowa then had another dominant performance last Saturday with a 55-0 shutout victory against Northern Iowa to secure its second shutout of the season.
Iowa compiled 640 total yards of offense against Northern Iowa, including a whopping 422 rushing yards. Running backs Nathan McNeil, Braeden Jackson, and Xavier Williams each rushed for over 100 yards in the win, with Williams leading the way with 151 rushing yards, three rushing touchdowns, and an astonishing 25.2 yards per carry. The trio combined for six rushing touchdowns, and Jackson also caught a 24-yard touchdown pass.

It could be a defensive game that makes the total intriguing, but it should also be a game that Iowa could go into the Big House and win or, at the very least, keep within five points in a loss.
