Now live at Hard Rock Bet - Lightning Link High Stakes

One of the original slots that introduced Hold & Spin to casino floors is now online. Lightning Link High Stakes is live at Hard Rock Bet Online Casino in New Jersey and Michigan, bringing Aristocrat’s Vegas-themed classic to the app with Cash-on-Reels, the signature Hold & Spin bonus and a Grand Jackpot up top.

The Lightning Link Legacy

Aristocrat launched Lightning Link in 2015, and High Stakes was one of the four original themes. The series took off fast on the strength of its Hold & Spin bonus, which locks cash values and jackpot symbols in place while you spin for more.

High Stakes brings that same formula online. It runs on five reels with up to 50 paylines, and the Vegas theme fits the Hold & Spin format about as well as any theme Aristocrat has built.

Visuals: Welcome to the Strip

High Stakes opens on a neon-soaked Las Vegas backdrop, with the skyline glowing behind the reels and a showgirl in a full feather headdress. The symbols pull straight from the Strip with roulette wheels, poker chips, playing-card royals and glittering Vegas signage.

Game Features

High Stakes runs on the classic Lightning Link structure, so there are three things to keep an eye on: Cash-on-Reels in the base game, the Hold & Spin bonus and a Free Games round built around one giant reel.

Cash-on-Reels

During the base game, cash values can land directly on the reels as credit prizes with no line win required. This keeps something happening even on spins that would otherwise come up empty.

Hold & Spin

Land 6 or more chip symbols and the Hold & Spin feature kicks in. Those symbols lock in place and you get three respins to fill the rest of the board. Every new chip that lands resets your respins back to three, and the chips carry credit values or jackpot prizes. Fill the entire screen and the Grand Jackpot is yours.

Free Games

Land 3, 4 or 5 scatter symbols to trigger Free Games, and this is where High Stakes shows off. The three center reels merge into one oversized BIG reel stacked with large symbols, so a single landing can cover a big chunk of the board at once. It’s the most visually satisfying part of the game and the round where the bigger line wins tend to show up.

Jackpots

High Stakes carries four progressive jackpot tiers (Mini, Minor, Major and Grand), topped by the Grand. The Grand is the one everyone’s chasing, and the only way to land it is to fill the screen during Hold & Spin. The lower tiers hit more often and land as chip prizes during the bonus.

Play It Now

Lightning Link High Stakes is available now in New Jersey and Michigan through the Hard Rock Bet Casino app. Bets start at $0.50 so you can settle in for a long session, and the Grand Jackpot gives it a nice ceiling when you want to push the stakes up.
