The Welsh and I have a pair of Hard Rock Best Bets for Wednesday night’s MLB slate. Let’s get into it.
Joey P’s Hard Rock Bet of the Day: MIL-ATH Under 14.5 (-108)
Today, I’m going to be betting the under in the Brewers vs. Athletics game.
Why? Because the number is 14.5, and that’s an absurd number for a baseball game.
I know Vegas has been fun lately. I know we’ve seen plenty of home runs and a lot of offense, but 14.5 is a massive total. We’re talking about a number that feels more like a Jets team total than a baseball over/under.
Just from a math perspective, it’s hard to get behind a number that high. Sure, weird things happen in baseball, but 15 runs is asking for a lot.
So I’m going to take the under 14.5 at -108 – trust the number.
Welsh’s Hard Rock Bet of the Day: Dbacks RL -1.5 (+114)
For my Hard Rock Bet of the Day, I’m going with the Arizona Diamondbacks on the run line, -1.5.
We’re getting plus money against the Marlins, who are sending Ryan Gusto to the mound. Gusto enters with a 10.80 ERA, and that’s a matchup I’m willing to attack.
Ryan Nelson can be a little Jekyll-and-Hyde at times, but I think he’s capable of keeping this Miami offense in check. The Marlins profile more as a contact team than a power team, which should help.
On the other side, I think Arizona’s offense is set up to do some damage. Corbin Carroll has been on an absolute tear, and Ketel Marte keeps producing despite all the outside noise.
I think the Diamondbacks put up runs, get to Gusto early, and take care of business.
Give me Arizona -1.5, and let’s cash a run line at plus money.
