The UCF Knights are set to host the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats at the Acrisure Bounce House in Orlando, Florida, as part of Thursday’s college football Week 1 slate to open both teams’ seasons.
UCF enters its second season under head coach Scott Frost after a disappointing 5-7 record last year. The Knights will look a lot different in 2026 after a roster overhaul that saw a significant number of transfers join the program, including former James Madison dual-threat quarterback Alonza Barnett III. Barnett recorded 72 total touchdowns during his career with the Dukes and is set to make his UCF debut tonight as the Knights look to extend the program’s Thursday night winning streak to 12 games.
Bethune-Cookman is looking to build on its 2025 season, when the Wildcats won six of their final nine games to finish the year on a high note and secure the program’s first non-losing season since 2019. Wildcats quarterback Cam’Ron Ransom is also looking to build on a solid season in which he posted a career-best 148.5 passer rating while also proving effective in the run game with a career-high six rushing touchdowns.
