The PGA Tour heads to Mexico this week for the 2026 VidantaWorld Mexico Open, taking place from October 29 through November 1 at Vidanta Vallarta. The 120-player field will compete for a $6 million purse, with $1.08 million and 500 FedExCup points going to the winner.

The Tour arrives in Mexico following a weather-shortened Butterfield Bermuda Championship, where Austin Smotherman defeated Seamus Power in a Monday morning playoff to earn his second victory in consecutive starts. High winds forced officials to cancel Sunday’s final round, reducing the tournament to 54 holes. Smotherman and Power finished tied at 16-under before Smotherman prevailed on the third playoff hole.

Wyndham Leads the Mexico Open Field

Wyndham Clark (+1000) enters the week as the clear favorite at Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook. The two-time U.S. Open champion is followed by Tom Kim (+1750), who captured the Genesis Scottish Open earlier this season, and Ben James (+2000). James remains in search of his first career PGA Tour victory, entering this week on the heels of three consecutive Top 5 finishes.

Marco Penge, Johnny Keefer and Ben Griffin share the next-shortest odds at +2250 apiece.

Griffin played well at last year’s Mexico Open, finishing tied for fourth at 18-under, just two strokes behind the eventual champion.

Another group of contenders follows at 30-1, including Max Homa, Corey Conners, Doug Ghim and Harry Hall.

Conners was in contention last week in Bermuda, sitting at 14-under and just two strokes off the lead heading into Sunday before the final round was canceled.

Campbell Returns as Defending Champion

Brian Campbell (+20000) returns to Mexico after picking up his first PGA Tour victory at last year’s tournament. Campbell finished at 20-under alongside Aldrich Potgieter before winning on the second playoff hole.

Potgieter is also back in the field at +7500 after coming close to his first PGA Tour title in 2025. The South African fired a second-round 61 and ultimately finished three strokes ahead of third-place finisher Isaiah Salinda, who is also competing this week and priced at +7500.

Another former Mexico Open champion, Tony Finau (+7500), returns to Vidanta Vallarta. Finau won the 2023 tournament at 24-under, defeating Jon Rahm by three strokes.
