The Denver Nuggets head back to Minneapolis tonight on the brink of elimination, trailing the Timberwolves 3-2 in their first round playoff series. Denver kept its season alive with a dominant 125-113 win in Game 5 on Monday night, as Nikola Jokic posted a triple-double with 27 points, 12 rebounds and 16 assists – tying Russell Westbrook for the most combined regular season and postseason triple-doubles in NBA history. Jamal Murray added 24 points of his own, Spencer Jones erupted for a career-high with 20, and the Nuggets’ offense finally looked like itself after two rough outings in Minnesota where they scored just 96 points in each game.

Now the question is whether the Timberwolves can close it out on their home floor at the Target Center without Anthony Edwards, who remains sidelined with a bone bruise in his knee, and Donte DiVincenzo, who is out for the season after rupturing his Achilles tendon in Game 4. Minnesota’s backcourt depth is getting even thinner, as both Ayo Dosunmu (right calf soreness) and Bones Hyland (left knee soreness) are listed as questionable for tonight. Dosunmu has been the Wolves’ best offensive player this series, averaging 21.8 points per game and going off for 43 in Game 4. If he can’t go or is limited at all, Minnesota’s guard rotation would be stretched to the breaking point.

For Denver, Aaron Gordon remains questionable with left calf tightness after missing Games 3 and 5. Peyton Watson (hamstring) is out.
