England and France expected to be playing this weekend – they just weren’t expecting it to be for third place. While Saturday’s Bronze Final isn’t the matchup either nation dreamed of, it’s far from meaningless. A World Cup medal is still up for grabs, and with Kylian Mbappé, Harry Kane, and even Jude Bellingham all still mathematically alive in the Golden Boot race, there’s every reason to expect an entertaining afternoon in Miami.
Let’s dive into the latest World Cup odds at Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook and sort through the betting board to find my favorite England vs. France predictions and best bets for the Third-Place Game.
France vs England Odds
If you’re betting this one on the 3-way moneyline, meaning the game is decided within regulation time (the first 90 minutes), the current France-England odds on Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook are as follows:
- 🇫🇷 France to Win: -120
- 🪢 Tie/Draw: +300
- 🏴 England to Win: +300
Odds to Win Third Place: England vs France
The ‘to advance’ market is out – there will be no more advancing – and in it’s place we’ve simply got the ‘Who will win 3rd place playoff‘ wager. It’s the same bet, in practice, though. Throw out ties, extra time, penalties, etc. — who wins this one and takes the third place medal at the 2026 World Cup?
- 🇫🇷 France to Win 3rd Place: -220
- 🏴 England to Win 3rd Place: +170

France vs England Predictions
The third-place game may not be the highlight of the World Cup schedule but it’s the second-to-last opportunity we’ll have to watch, enjoy, and bet on the World Cup for another four years, so I’m ready for it… and so is Stats Hub, with an assortment of interesting data points and insights to help us build out a betting card for the game. The write up below reflects where it led me for my England-France predictions.
I’ll also preface this section by saying that I will likely wait until lineups are announced for this one before I actually submit my bets. While I expect both sides to go for the win here, it’s certainly possible we see some rotation, and line movement in the time leading up to kickoff.
World Cup Best Bet: France Moneyline -120
I’ve written it before, but: France are stacked. Before the semifinal against Spain I firmly believed they were destined to lift the cup and become World Cup Champions for the third time. However, Spain had other ideas in the semifinal and made them look pedestrian. Don’t be fooled though, this isn’t a pedestrian side. They are extraordinarily talented, deep, and will be motivated to win this one.
This will be France coach Didier Deschamps final game representing the country after 103 caps as a player and more than 14 years in charge of the team as coach. He’s won the World Cup as a player and a manager, and I believe the team will be determined to give him the send off he deserves.
France are -220 to win the third place game (including extra time), but I don’t feel a need to pay that price. Sure, extra time isn’t impossible here, but I think both sides are increasingly motivated not to play an extra thirty minutes. This is the eighth game of the tournament for both teams on the back of a long, grueling club season. I think France are better, fresher having had an extra day of rest, and will finish the job in regular time – so I’m in at -120.
World Cup Goalscorer Best Bet: Kylian Mbappé Anytime Goalscorer -145
Kylian Mbappé is still very live for the Golden Boot, and while I’m sure it’s not the trophy that he wanted to leave the United States with – it’s not nothing. He’s currently joint-top of the scoring chart with Lionel Messi for the 2026 Golden Boot race, but Messi holds the tiebreaker with one additional assist.
However, as France found out in the Semifinals – Spain are a really tough nut to crack, so finding a goal in the Final is far from a given for Messi. If Mbappé manages a goal (or two!) against England, he’ll be in prime position to take home the Golden Boot, becoming the first player to ever win the award twice in the process.
Stats Hub also notes that Mbappé has scored a goal in ten of his last twelve World Cup appearances. He shows up on the biggest stage, and while Saturday’s match in Miami isn’t quite as bright as the one being played further north in New Jersey – it’s still the World Cup.
World Cup Score Prediction: FRA-ENG Both Teams to Score – NO +175
This may not be a popular one, but Both Teams to Score is listed at +175 right now on Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook. France are without William Saliba at the back which will hurt, but they are still a tidy, organized team, who as we discussed earlier will be motivated to give their long-time manager a worthy send off. They’ve pitched four shutouts so far at the World Cup, and a 95th minute consolation from Senegal is all that prevented it from being five.
England simply ran out of gas in the semifinal against Argentina and they’re being asked to go again, outside in the Florida heat on just two days rest. I expect them to rotate at a few positions and while playing in the World Cup will be meaningful for those that come in, but I just get the sense that this team’s race is run after the disappointment earlier this week.
Stats Hub highlights for us that under 2.5 goals has hit in three straight for France, and you can grab that one at +185 if you’re interested, but I do think a 3-0 win for France isn’t out of the question and I wouldn’t want to lose that way. Give me BTTS NO at +175.
