ealry nba odds 2027

The celebrations are still underway in the Big Apple as the Knicks – and their legion of dedicated fans – celebrate their first NBA championship in 53 years. But bettors are already looking ahead to 2027, and the defending champions aren’t the favorites to repeat.

Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook‘s early 2027 NBA odds have Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs as the betting favorite to not only emerge from a competitive Western Conference, but also hoist the Larry O’Brien Trophy (+225) for the sixth time in franchise history.

Spurs Favored After Breaking Through the Western Conference

While they came up short in 2026, the San Antonio Spurs enter the offseason as the odds-on favorite to win the 2027 NBA title at +225… and for good reason. While they just lost 4-1 to the Knicks in the NBA Finals, they built significant leads in every game and have a really young core that will be hungry to be better in 2027.

The West won’t be a cake walk, though. The Thunder will be back and their current title odds of +250 signifies that there’s not much between the two teams that battled to 7 games in this years Western Conference Finals. Plus, there’s a host other contenders looking to make the leap.

Knicks Have the Best Title Odds in the East

The Knicks may be the reigning NBA champions, but the oddsmakers aren’t quite ready to crown them as the East’s next dynasty just yet. New York enters the 2027 title race with the shortest odds among Eastern Conference teams at +600, but it’s tight with the Celtics who loom closely behind at +700.

Looking further, the Knicks are only co-favorites to win the Eastern Conference alongside Boston at +225, meaning it’s still wide open.

The two teams didn’t meet in the playoffs in 2026… but a 7-game series in 2027 would be appointment television for both fans and bettors.

Contenders line up at +3000

Below the favorites sits a large tier of contenders priced at +3000, including the Lakers, Pacers, Cavaliers, Heat, and Timberwolves. Each team boasts star power, postseason experience, and a realistic path to contention with the right moves this offseason.

While none currently occupy the top tier of the betting board, they’re only a few pieces away from a legitimate championship run. Whether through free agency or trades, each franchise will enter the summer looking to strengthen its roster and improve its chances of making a deeper playoff push in 2027.
