Clay Travis’ Week 2 College Football Betting Predictions – 15 Picks

Week 1 was an unmitigated disaster at 2-8-1, but we’re moving forward. I’ve got 15 college football picks for Week 2, including two plays in Oklahoma–Michigan and my prediction for the massive Ohio State–Texas matchup.

Now the reasoning behind a few of the biggest spots of the week.

Texas -1.5 vs. Ohio State

Ohio State-Texas is by far the biggest game of the weekend, and Texas is going to win.

Texas saw what happened last year when its offense vanished on the road in Columbus. The Longhorns responded by making sure Arch Manning would not find himself in another situation where the weapons around him weren’t stacked.

I believe Arch is going to win the Heisman Trophy, and now he gets another opportunity against Ohio State.

Texas is a 1.5-point favorite, so we are basically talking about a pick’em game. I think the Longhorns come out of the gate quickly and build something like a 14-3 lead. Ohio State will make a run in the second half, but Texas ultimately wins by a field goal or more.

A lot of attention has gone to Jeremiah Smith and Legend Bey, who I think is going to be a superstar. But Cam Coleman is the player I expect to shine for Texas.

Coleman was phenomenal down the stretch for Auburn last season despite not receiving elite quarterback play. He is still only 20 years old, and I think Texas has kept him somewhat under the radar ahead of this matchup.

This will be Coleman’s opportunity to shine on one of college football’s biggest stages. I think he goes off Saturday in Austin and helps Texas cover the point spread.

Oklahoma -5.5 at Michigan

It feels like the whole world is on Oklahoma after seeing how bad Bryce Underwood and the Michigan offense looked against Western Michigan. That makes me a little nervous about laying nearly a touchdown on the road, especially because Oklahoma’s offense has also been somewhat enigmatic.

John Mateer injured his thumb last season, and the quarterback we saw early in the year was not the same player we saw following that injury. Oklahoma opened this season by putting up 51 points, but this will obviously be a much more difficult test.

Still, I think Oklahoma is going to win by double digits. I’m taking the Sooners -5.5.

Oklahoma vs. Michigan UNDER 43.5 – Blood Bank Pick 🩸

Tap the veins, boys and girls. My Blood Bank pick for Week 2 is Oklahoma-Michigan under 43.5.

I think Oklahoma is going to strangle the Michigan offense. The Sooners held their Week 1 opponent to 198 total yards and only 86 passing yards, and Michigan could struggle to score more than 10 points in this matchup.

I don’t expect Oklahoma’s offense to run roughshod over Michigan, either. I see the Sooners scoring somewhere in the low-to-mid 20s, producing something like a 24-10 final score.

It’s a low total, but I still feel comfortable taking the under. Oklahoma-Michigan under 43.5 is my Blood Bank bet.
