The PGA Tour returns to The Renaissance Club in North Berwick, Scotland, for the 2026 Genesis Scottish Open, which begins on Thursday, July 9. Some of golf‘s biggest stars, including Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy, will compete for a share of the $9 million purse in one of two Tour events taking place this week ahead of next week’s British Open.
The 2026 Genesis Scottish Open allows LIV Golf players to compete because of the tournament’s co-sanctioned status between the DP World Tour and PGA Tour. The 156-player field features competitors from both circuits, highlighted by Jon Rahm making his first non-major PGA Tour start since the 2023 Tour Championship.
Defending champion Chris Gotterup enters this week’s event fresh off a victory at the John Deere Classic, where he fired a final-round 62 to finish at 20-under-par and earn his fifth PGA Tour victory and third win of the 2026 season. While Gotterup doesn’t enter the Genesis Scottish Open as the betting favorite, he remains firmly in the mix at +3000 to successfully defend his title.
Unsurprisingly, Scheffler and McIlroy sit atop the odds board, with Scheffler opening as the betting favorite at +500 to win the 2026 Genesis Scottish Open.
