Here’s why: England will battle Ghana at Gillette Stadium with a chance to clinch Group L coming off a 4-2 win against Croatia. It wasn’t their best outing, controlling just 54% of the possession time and out-passing the Croatians by just 45 touches. However, they still got off 20 shots in that match and scored four times in the win.
Kane himself was responsible for seven of those shots, three being on goal and two finding the back of the net. This follows the 32-year-old averaging three shots and two on goal across his two friendlies played with the international team this season.
Ghana, meanwhile, did get the 1-0 win over Panama in their opening match, but that’s due to their goalkeeper absolutely standing on his head after the club surrendered 63% of the possession time and were outpassed by nearly 200 touches.
That being said, I expect England and Harry Kane to continue to roll in this one today.
