Following a massive weekend in Washington D.C. for UFC Freedom 250, the Ultimate Fighting Championship makes its return to the Meta APEX in Las Vegas on Saturday, June 20 for UFC Fight Night: Kape vs. Horiguchi. The event will feature 12 bouts in total,Ā headlined by a flyweight rematch nine years in the making. Prelims get underway at 5:00 PM ET, with the main card following at 8:00 PM ET on Paramount+.

No. 2-ranked Manel Kape enters Saturday’s main event amidst one of the best runs of his UFC career. The southpaw has finished his last three opponents without leaving it up to the judges – a third-round TKO of Bruno Gustavo da Silva in December 2024, a third-round TKO of Asu Almabayev in March 2025, and most recently a first-round KO of Brandon Royval in December 2025. At 125 pounds, Kape is one of the division’s most dangerous strikers, landing around five significant strikes per minute at 56% accuracy with a two-inch reach advantage over Saturday’s opponent, Kyoji Horiguchi.

Ranked fifth in the division, Horiguchi is no stranger to the UFC. The 35-year-old actually competed in the promotion back in 2013, building a 7-1 record that included a title shot against Demetrious Johnson at UFC 186 – a fight he lost via armbar in the final seconds of round five. He walked away from the UFC when his contract was up in 2016 and spent the better part of a decade competing in the Rizin Fighting Federation and Bellator, where he won championships and beat a string of UFC veterans. When he finally came back to the Octagon in November 2025, he looked like he’d never left – overwhelming Tagir Ulanbekov with a third-round rear-naked choke in Qatar, then outworking Amir Albazi over three rounds in Las Vegas to make it two straight wins since his return to the promotion.

The two men also have history. Back on December 31, 2017, at the Rizin World Grand Prix Final in Saitama, Japan, Horiguchi submitted Kape with an arm-triangle choke in the third round before going on to win the entire tournament that same night. Both fighters have since moved to flyweight and rebuilt themselves into genuine title contenders. With champion Joshua Van expected to rematch Alexandre Pantoja next, the winner on Saturday night is likely next in line at 125 pounds.
