The Eastern Conference Finals have officially arrived, and the paths these two teams took to get here couldn’t have been more different. The New York Knicks have steamrolled through the competition as of late,  sweeping the 76ers in the semis and riding a seven-game winning streak into this series. The Cleveland Cavaliers, meanwhile, had to claw through back-to-back seven-game slugfests against Toronto and Detroit, and haven’t had consecutive days off since late April.

That rest disparity is the main story to watch heading into Game 1 tonight at Madison Square Garden. New York last played on May 10 and used that nine-day window to get OG Anunoby (hamstring) healthy after he missed Games 3 and 4 against Philly. The Cavaliers, on the other hand, just closed out the top-seeded Pistons with a 125-94 blowout in Game 7 on Sunday night.

Here’s what you need to know heading into tonight’s series opener, including current odds, betting splits, trending player props, and our best bet via Stats Hub.

Cavaliers vs. Knicks Best Bet: Dennis Schröder Over 2.5 Assists (-105): Schröder has notched 3+ assists in 19 consecutive games at Madison Square Garden, a streak that dates back several seasons. He faced the Knicks in the first round of last year’s postseason as a member of the Pistons, where he cleared this number in all three games at the Garden to keep the streak alive.

Unrelated to the trend, Schröder is also coming off a semifinal series against Detroit where he cleared this number in five out of seven games while averaging 18.3 minutes off the bench. At -105, the price is essentially a coin flip for a trend that’s been anything but.
