The Oklahoma City Thunder look to continue their dominant run in the NBA Playoffs in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night. The defending champion Thunder finished the regular season with the best record in the league as the West’s top team, with aspirations of hoisting the Larry O’Brien Trophy for the second consecutive year.

The Lakers remain without superstar guard Luka Dončić, who is working his way back from a hamstring injury, and face a steep challenge against the Thunder. Oklahoma City enters Game 2 with a perfect 5-0 record in this year’s playoffs and has won every game by nine or more points, including an 18-point Game 1 victory over the Lakers on Tuesday.

LeBron James and company have a lot of work to do to make this a competitive series, but Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder are aiming to continue their dominance with another NBA Finals appearance in sight.

Here are two intriguing trends for Thursday night’s matchup:

LeBron James Points Odds

LeBron James scored a team-high 27 points on 70.6% shooting in Game 1, and it still wasn’t enough for the Lakers to seriously challenge the Thunder. With Luka Dončić still sidelined, the 41-year-old will need to continue serving as one of the focal points of the Lakers’ offense.

Not only was LeBron the Lakers’ leading scorer in Game 1, but he’s also the team’s leading scorer through seven playoff games this postseason. The future Hall of Famer is averaging 23.7 points per game and has gone over his Game 2 points line of 20.5 in four of his last five games.

  • Lakers vs. Thunder Game 2 Player Prop Pick: LeBron James Over 20.5 Points (-125)

Chet Holmgren Threes Made Odds

Chet Holmgren is proving once again why he’s one of the NBA’s brightest young stars. The 24-year-old posted a team-high 24 points in Game 1 against the Lakers while also adding 12 rebounds, one steal, and three blocks.

Despite being a big man, Holmgren is comfortable shooting from beyond the arc. He averaged 3.5 three-point attempts per game during the regular season and made 1.3 per contest. Both numbers have slightly increased during the playoffs, making his three-pointers market intriguing for Game 2.

Not only has Holmgren gone over 1.5 made threes in four of his last five games, but he has also knocked down two or more three-pointers in each of his last four home games. With plus money attached to his line for Game 2, there appears to be solid value.
