Michigan sports betting promotions
If Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook gets a green light for Michigan, it wouldn’t arrive empty handed. Expected a full lineup of complimentary promotions, many familiar to bettors in other states. These include:
MI sportsbook bonus: Bet $5 & Get $150 in Bonus Bets If You Win
In its other active states, Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook is offering first-time signups the chance to Bet $5 & Get $150 in Bonus Bets If You Win! Let’s get into how this offering works.
First things first: no Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook promo code would be necessary to claim this welcome offer. As long as you are a first time player at Hard Rock Bet, the bonus will be accessible in your account’s promotions after sign up.
Those that qualify for the bonus will then need to place an initial wager of at least $5 or more. Any market will work – the sport or league does not matter. You can wager more than $5 on this bet if you’d like, but remember that the bonus payout will remain unchanged. There is a maximum of $150 in Bonus Bets on the table.
Once your qualifying wager is locked in, it’s time to hope for the best. If your bet ends up winning, you would not only receive your initial stake plus any winnings, but also $150 in Bonus Bets!
The bonus payout would be broken up into six separate Bonus Bets worth $25 apiece, adding up to $150 in total. Keep in mind that these bonus bets would come with an expiration date of 7 days after you receive them, so be sure to use them before you lose them. If successfully wagered, the bonus bet stake will not be included with any winnings.
Full offer T&C apply at all times.
More MI betting promotions
In addition to the welcome offer, Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook Michigan would look to bring countless promotions for existing users upon its arrival. From Legendary Reward Drops to The Hundred, Michigan bettors would have plenty to look forward to.
For starters, active players would find several boosted markets on the app or website’s homepage each and every time they log in, under The Hundred. Whether it’s a straight bet, a parlay or a Same Game Parlay, these markets will be offered at increased odds to provide additional value. Act fast, however, as each boosted market will only be available for a limited time. As soon as 100 Hard Rock Bet players jump on it, it’ll disappear for good!
Similarly, players may also receive profit boosts that can be applied to their own selections. Profit boosts often come with specific caveats, such as the type of bet, sport or league that will qualify, but otherwise offer players a bit more flexibility compared to the preselected boosted markets mentioned above.
Legendary Reward Drops would be yet another unique, exciting source of value for MI sportsbook players. In short, this serves as Hard Rock Bet’s customer loyalty program. Active players can stack up credits with every bet placed in order to climb the ladder and grow their status with the brand. Every week on Thursdays, players will find a guitar case in their rewards section that will come stocked with several mystery rewards. Crack it open, see what’s inside and enjoy all of the benefits!

Michigan sports betting laws
Michigan is home to one of the nation’s most unique online gambling markets. The state first introduced online sports betting as part of a rare three-in-one legislative package that also included online casino, online poker and regulated fantasy sports. Let’s go over all of the details:
House Bill 4926 introduced and vetoed
Michigan’s first attempt at legalizing iGaming happened shortly after the Supreme Court’s May 2018 reversal of the Professional and Amatuer Sports Protection Act of 1992 (PASPA). This groundbreaking decision officially opened up the door for U.S. states to propose legalization and Michigan was one of the first to jump at the opportunity.
Unfortunately for residents of the state, Governor Rick Snyder swiftly vetoed House Bill 4926 (the Lawful Internet Gaming Act) in December 2018. The bill would have allowed for internet gambling in Michigan conducted through websites operated by Detroit’s three casinos and others operated by federally recognized tribes. Instead, it was back to the drawing board.
House Bill 4311-12, 4916-18 and 4308 signed into law
Nearly one year after former Governor Snyder denied Michigan’s iGaming proposal, a set of bipartisan legislation was approved by new Governor Gretchen Whitmer. This set of bills would legalize several forms of iGaming in Michigan, including the following:
- HB 4311 – The Lawful Internet Gaming Act: Would allow the Michigan Gaming Control Board to issue licenses for online and mobile casinos.
- HB 4916 – The Lawful Sports Betting Act: Would legalize sports betting in Michigan casinos, online and mobile.
- HB 4308 – The Fantasy Contests Consumer Protection Act: Would establish the legal framework needed to regulate fantasy sports contests in Michigan.
The three-part package was officially approved on December 20, 2019, officially paving the way for a state launch.
Michigan sports betting launches
Michigan sports betting made its official debut in March 2020, although this only included in-person sportsbooks at Detroit’s three flagship casinos. The launch also happened to coincide with the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, forcing casino closures and a brief pause on retail sports betting in the state.
Less than one year later on January 22, 2021, online sports betting finally went live in Michigan. Fast forward to 2025, Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook hopes to brings its feature-rich app to the market.
