UFC Fight Night: Hooker vs. Parnasse Picks, Predictions, Odds & Full Card

Paris takes center stage on Saturday as French standout Salahdine Parnasse makes his long-awaited UFC debut against Dan Hooker in a five-round lightweight main event at Accor Arena. The preliminary card is scheduled to begin at noon ET, with the six-fight main card following at 3 p.m. ET on Paramount+.

Parnasse arrives in the UFC with a 23-2 professional record and championships in two divisions on his résumé. The 28-year-old held both the featherweight and lightweight titles during his decorated run with KSW, recording seven successful title defenses before becoming one of the most sought-after free agents in mixed martial arts.

Hooker provides an experienced first test for the former KSW champion. The 36-year-old has competed 24 times inside the Octagon and has shared the cage with many of the lightweight division’s best fighters, including Islam Makhachev, Dustin Poirier, and Justin Gaethje.

The Hangman put together three straight victories over Claudio Puelles, Jalin Turner and Mateusz Gamrot before running into two of the division’s leading contenders. He was submitted by Arman Tsarukyan and then suffered a second-round stoppage loss to Benoît Saint Denis in February. Hooker enters Paris with a 24-14 record and will attempt to avoid the first three-fight losing streak of his professional career.

Saturday’s co-main event keeps the spotlight on the host country as French lightweights Farès Ziam and Axel Sola meet in an important matchup at 155 pounds. Ziam had won five consecutive fights before dropping a unanimous decision to Tom Nolan in June. The 29-year-old owns an 18-5 record and has won eight of his 11 UFC appearances.

Sola carries a 12-1-1 record into his fourth UFC assignment. He stopped Rhys McKee in his promotional debut at last year’s Paris card before suffering the first loss of his career against Mason Jones. Sola quickly rebounded in July, submitting Ismael Bonfim late in the opening round.

The main card also includes an unusual middleweight matchup between Michael “Venom” Page and Nursulton Ruziboev. Page has won four of his five UFC fights, including decisions over Shara Magomedov and Jared Cannonier during a successful two-fight run at 185 pounds. Ruziboev owns a 5-1 UFC record and has won three straight since returning to middleweight, most recently submitting Andrey Pulyaev in June.

Elsewhere, Punahele Soriano faces Daniil Donchenko at welterweight, while Kurtis Campbell meets Trevor Peek and Losene Keita takes on Muhammad Naimov in a pair of featherweight contests. The preliminary card features additional matchups involving French fighters Morgan Charrière, Oumar Sy, Nora Cornolle, Matthieu Duclos, Michael Aljarouj and Delphine Benouaich.

This marks the UFC’s fifth consecutive annual visit to Paris since holding its first event in France in 2022. Parnasse becomes the latest French fighter to headline at Accor Arena, following previous Paris main events featuring Ciryl Gane, Benoît Saint Denis and Nassourdine Imavov.

The streak began with Page’s UFC debut against Kevin Holland and continued through his lone promotional loss to Ian Machado Garry. His two middleweight appearances against Magomedov and Cannonier also required decisions before Page returned to welterweight and outpointed Sam Patterson in March.

Page’s elusive approach is a major reason why his UFC fights have consistently lasted 15 minutes. He operates from long range, rarely remains stationary for extended exchanges and forces opponents to chase him around the Octagon. His most recent fight produced only 39 combined significant strikes, with Patterson also failing on both of his takedown attempts.

Ruziboev presents a legitimate finishing threat, having ended 34 of his 37 professional victories before the final bell. However, he has already shown that he can maintain his pace for three rounds at the UFC level. His loss to Joaquin Buckley and victory over Dustin Stoltzfus both reached the scorecards.

Page has also handled the size and physicality of middleweight competition without being drawn into reckless exchanges. He controlled the distance against two middleweight opponents in Magomedov and Cannonier, extending the same decision streak that began at welterweight.

Ruziboev may look to close the distance and turn the fight into a grappling battle, but Page’s movement should make sustained control difficult to establish. With all five of Page’s UFC appearances reaching the scorecards, Fight to Go the Distance, Yes is our best bet for UFC Paris.
