The UFC returns to Philadelphia on Saturday night for a championship doubleheader as UFC 330: Makhachev vs. Machado Garry takes over Xfinity Mobile Arena. Islam Makhachev puts the welterweight championship on the line against Ian Machado Garry in the main event, while Mackenzie Dern looks to defend the women’s strawweight title against Gillian Robertson in the co-main event.
Makhachev will make his first defense at 170 pounds after moving up from lightweight and defeating Jack Della Maddalena by unanimous decision at UFC 322 last November. The victory made Makhachev a two-division UFC champion and extended his winning streak to 16 consecutive fights, tying Anderson Silva for the longest winning streak in UFC history. His run also includes lightweight championship victories over Charles Oliveira, Alexander Volkanovski, Dustin Poirier and Renato Moicano.
Machado Garry arrives in Philadelphia with a 17-1 professional record and his first opportunity to capture a UFC belt. His lone defeat came against Shavkat Rakhmonov by unanimous decision at UFC 310 in December 2024. He responded by defeating Carlos Prates and former welterweight champion Belal Muhammad in 2025, earning his shot at Makhachev and the welterweight crown.
The co-main event features two of the most accomplished grapplers in the women’s strawweight division. Dern captured the vacant championship with a unanimous decision victory over Virna Jandiroba at UFC 321 last October and will make her first title defense Saturday. Robertson enters the matchup riding a five-fight winning streak and owns the most submission victories by a woman in UFC history.
There is plenty of intrigue beyond the two championship fights. Veteran striker Edson Barboza faces Esteban Ribovics at lightweight, while Jalin Turner takes on Kauê Fernandes. The card also features longtime welterweights Vicente Luque and Neil Magny, rising middleweight Mansur Abdul-Malik and Myktybek Orolbai, who enters Saturday riding a three-fight winning streak.
UFC 330 also marks a significant return to Philadelphia. The promotion has not held an event in the city since 2019, when Justin Gaethje stopped Barboza in the first round. Saturday will be Philadelphia’s first numbered UFC event in more than 15 years, dating back to UFC 133 in August 2011.
