Something spooky just floated into our lobby.
Aristocrat’s Spooky Link: Go Ghost is now live at Hard Rock Bet Online Casino in New Jersey and Michigan. Its star is a goofy blue ghost with a big appetite for gems. Here’s what to know before you spin.
Where Spooky Link Comes From
Spooky Link started as a casino floor slot. Aristocrat built it as a game family around three monsters: Go Ghost, Mo’ Mummy and Yo Yeti, with each character bringing its own unique variation to the game’s features.
Go Ghost gives the ghost its turn in the spotlight. Instead of just scooping up prizes, this ghost grows bigger with every gem it swallows. With the right feature, it can stretch over a much wider board.
Visuals: Gold, Gems and Ghouls
The reels sit inside a purple doorway, floating above a sea of gold coins under a starry night sky. Three suits of golden armor stand guard over the reels. Each one has a pile of gems at its feet: green for Mo’ Spins, red for Go Ghost and blue for Mo’ Symbols. Five jackpot plaques are at the top of the screen.
On the reels, a dapper gentleman with a curled mustache and a pipe leads the paytable. A candlelit chandelier, an open spellbook, a jeweled hand mirror and a pair of cufflinks fill out the premium symbols, with A through J covering the rest.
The ghost itself is more silly than scary. It has wide eyes, its tongue sticks out, and it’s always ready to grab whatever it can reach.
Game Features
Two kinds of symbols are responsible for most of the action: the Ghost and the gems.
Reels and Lines
Go Ghost plays on a 5×3 grid, with wins paying left to right from the first reel. The number of paylines depends on your bet, ranging from 10 to 25. The WILD substitutes for regular symbols. It can’t stand in for the Free Games scatter, the Ghost, gems or coins.
Unlocking the Ghost Features
The Ghost can only land on reel 1. When it does, green, red and blue gems can show up on reels 2 through 5. Which features you unlock depends on the gems that land with it:
- Green gem: Mo’ Spins
- Red gem: Go Ghost
- Blue gem: Mo’ Symbols
Gems that land without the Ghost can still randomly award their feature. If more than one feature hits on the same spin, they combine, up to all three at once. Each gem also carries a prize worth 0.5x to 100x your total bet or any of the five jackpots.
How the Ghost Features Play
When a feature starts, every gem from the triggering spin turns into a white diamond holding the same prize. You’ll move to a 5×5 board where each position spins on its own, with five spins to start.
A 2×2 Ghost appears and drifts over to each diamond, collecting its prize. After each spin, it also picks up any coins that landed behind it. The more diamonds it eats, the bigger it gets:
- 5 diamonds: Grows to 3×3, plus 3 spins
- 4 more diamonds: Grows to 4×4, plus 2 spins
- 3 more diamonds: Grows to 5×5, plus 1 spin
Once the Ghost fills the board, no more diamonds can appear. New coins and diamonds during the feature pay 0.5x to 100x your total bet or the Minor or Mini jackpot. When the spins run out, everything collected gets paid.
Mo’ Spins
Coins and diamonds can show a +1 Spin tag, and every tagged symbol the Ghost collects adds another spin.
Go Ghost
The headliner feature widens the board to 8×5. That gives the Ghost room to keep growing past 5×5, all the way to 8×5, earning extra spins at each size. After any spin, bonus prizes worth 1x to 50x your total bet can also get added to diamonds or coins behind the Ghost. Pair Go Ghost with Mo’ Spins, and those boosts can add extra spins, too.
Mo’ Symbols
Mo’ Symbols can randomly drop two coins or two diamonds onto the board, giving the Ghost more to collect.
Free Games
Three, four or five Free Games scatters award six free spins, along with an instant prize of 2x, 10x or 50x your total bet. A single scatter can also randomly trigger the round with a 2x prize. Free spins use bonus reels, the feature can retrigger, and the Ghost can still land on reel 1 to kick off a Ghost feature.
Jackpot Feature
Any WILD can randomly trigger the Jackpot Feature. You’ll pick from a set of coins, and matching three reveals your prize.
The Grand, Major, Maxi, Minor and Mini jackpots sit above the reels. They’re fixed rather than progressive, and each one scales with your bet. On a $2 spin, the Grand is worth $4,000 and the Major is worth $1,000.
