The Philadelphia Flyers couldn’t have asked for a better start, winning the first two games on the road in Pittsburgh in this best-of-seven first-round NHL playoff series against the Penguins. Not only are the Flyers up 2-0 in the series, but they’ll also host the next two games at Xfinity Mobile Arena in South Philly, including Wednesday night’s Game 3.

Flyers fans have been starving for playoff hockey, having not seen it in Philadelphia since the 2017-18 season. The Flyers did make the playoffs during the 2019-20 season but didn’t have any home games due to all games being played in hub cities due to Covid-19. The atmosphere Wednesday night should be even more electric with the team up 2-0 in the series and facing their biggest and most hated rival in the Battle of Pennsylvania.

For the Penguins, Sidney Crosby and the veteran core need to find an answer against this young Flyers team, along with the outstanding goaltending of Dan Vladar, who owns a .956 save percentage through the first two games and is coming off a 27-save shutout. The Flyers have all the momentum, while the Penguins are looking to get back into the series and steal one on enemy ice.
