Joe Pisapia’s Best Bet: Rangers -1.5 (+172)
I’m taking the Rangers -1.5 on the run line at +172.
Nathan Eovaldi has been really solid.
He takes on the Detroit Tigers tonight, who have been great as of late, but I think the luck runs out a little bit.
They can’t keep winning every single game here. I think Eovaldi’s start is where it ends.
Chris Welsh’s Best Bet: Braves ML (-115)
I’m taking the Braves on the moneyline.
That last outing by Dustin May was a little dicey. He gave up six earned runs in 6.2 innings. That might have just been the wear from that amazing nine inning outing, but we’re going to find out tonight.
The Cardinals haven’t seen Hurston Waldrep this season, and that Braves offense is rolling. The Cardinals have been a very solid team, but I’m kind of curious — and kind of thinking — that Dustin May is going to get hit around a little bit.
That being said, I like the Braves on the moneyline. I like backing that offense. I think Waldrep is the better pitcher. I think the reason you’re getting this number is because of the inconsistency — or the unknown — surrounding Waldrep.
