Hutton & Withrow: Going for the Bundle Week 4 College Football Parlay

Each and every week, we combine our top bets. It’s called Going for the Bundle.

Now, it’s time to go for the bundle with Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook. We’ve got our three picks for this week’s college football parlay.

Tulsa +7.5 at Arkansas

We’re taking Tulsa +7.5. Here’s why. Tulsa is 3-0 and taking on Arkansas. And what does Vegas know here? This is a possession game on the road in the SEC, and they’re playing Arkansas, a team that’s reeling.

The crowd’s going to be low. That’s the vibe with the Razorbacks. This is a team that beat Oklahoma State, who then turned around and beat Oregon. We like the vibe. We like Tre Lamb as coach.

They’ve got something going there. Do not sleep on Tulsa. We’re taking the points here as the first leg of the three-bet parlay going on right now at Hard Rock Bet.

Trey Biddy, by the way, said that there were 60,000-some-odd fans at the Arkansas game, but it was a late-arriving crowd and everybody left at halftime. Maybe 60,000 butts hit a seat in Arkansas, but it lasted for about three and a half minutes.

We feel like if that happened, there may have been a five-minute window where 60,000 bodies were actually in that building, and then they were all gone because they showed up late in the second quarter and left at halftime.

Anyway, it’s not going to be a good scene at Arkansas again this week. They are debuting the LED lights with a light show at the stadium at night, and everyone’s, you know, hooray, lights.

But if you’re Tulsa, when you see the way Arkansas has been playing, we would be extremely confident going into this with the way Tulsa has been playing against an SEC opponent. It’s a chance to go on the road and potentially win outright in this game.

Vanderbilt +9.5 at Auburn

This week, we’re going Vanderbilt at Auburn. We think Auburn probably wins a close game, but 9.5? We like Vandy covering the 9.5 spread.

This is a program that is 14-3 over its last 17 games. They just won by a miracle at home against NC State. We say that to say there are good vibes around Vandy’s program. They are finding ways to get things done. They’re finding ways to win.

We’re watching the highlights of a few of those passes from Jared Curtis in that second half. The dude looks like a future top-10 pick in the NFL Draft physically with his skill set.

Auburn has not really gotten it going much this year yet. We like Alex Golesh a lot. Again, we think they probably win at home, but we love Vanderbilt to cover the 9.5 on the road at Auburn this weekend.

Vanderbilt Has Momentum Heading Into Auburn

We view this in a way that you have the momentum coming off the way they won that game and the fact that Curtis is playing. They come back in that game, and there is a belief in things just going their way.

That’s a moment that can spark a turn in the overall body of work that we’re seeing from the Commodores, which has not been good and has not been consistent, but they get the victory over a team that had it and gave it away. NC State grabbed a loss from the jaws of victory in that game.

And don’t you look at that and just think they’re not losing by double digits? We do not see them going to Auburn and losing by double digits. They beat Auburn a year ago. We know Diego Pavia was there and all that. It was a good game, a really close game, but we just don’t think they’re losing by double digits.

There’s bad blood there, but Vanderbilt knows how to go on the road and win in that stadium. Again, give us the Dores +9.5. They’re not losing this game by double digits.

Can Vanderbilt Keep It Close Against Auburn?

Vandy was down 17 points last weekend. It was over. Vandy had no business winning that game. We’re with you. We just look at that and say they were bad enough to get down 17-0 to NC State and really to lose that game, but there’s also this mojo around that program that they come up with a miraculous play to win the game.

Their quarterback’s got some swag now. We know he threw the late interception the last time he was on the field, but we feel like he’s only going to get better and better. And we’re just not big believers in Auburn right now.

Hey, maybe Auburn responds after their crowd got called out by Florida and Jon Sumrall, and they come out and whip Vandy. But we like Vanderbilt to cover that 9.5.

We’re curious, too. What would be the vibe of our three-leg parlay here had Auburn beat Florida? If it’s vice versa, Auburn wins and Vandy loses, we don’t think we’re questioning this at all.

Let’s just win. That’s the simple way to do this. Sports. It’s life. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

We’re not going to sit and feel sorry for ourselves. We’re going to get ready for the next game, and we’re going to move forward. It doesn’t guarantee success, but that’s what we’re going to do.

USC +3.5 vs. Oregon

We always add our producer Jordan Tinkle’s pick as our third leg of the three-team parlay. JT won last week with his leg, and this week, we’re headed to USC. We like USC.

It’s a sellout at home. Lincoln Riley’s 4-0. We’ve seen some bad crowds there, but we kind of like what’s going on there.

Oregon has its first true road game of the season with Dan Lanning. Their defense has been pretty inconsistent. We’re not going to say it’s a no-brainer, but we really like USC at home coming up this weekend. Now, we think that stadium’s going to be packed because of Oregon fans.

We’re surprised JT didn’t have the guts to go moneyline with USC on that one. We thought he might go outright USC to pull off the upset at home and get a little bit more plus money. But this is JT’s pick. It’ll probably hit because Chad is not confident in it.

Chad has little confidence in USC, mainly because he picked USC to cover 23.5 in Piscataway against Rutgers a week ago, and they won by a touchdown. So, Chad is coming in pissed off at USC to begin with. He’s not confident in that one.
