Betting Trends

The Big Game is just around the corner and Hard Rock Bet has thousands of available markets for betting on the Super Bowl. From standard wagers like the moneyline, spread, and total, to exciting props, Same Game Parlays, and even game specials. Which begs the question… how are people actually betting the game?

As a legal, licensed online sportsbook that’s available in eight states across the country… Hard Rock Bet can tell you.

Bettors back Chiefs to win outright

By and large, Hard Rock Bettors are on the Chiefs to win outright. Nationwide, 56% of winner (aka moneyline) wagers are on the Chiefs to hoist their third consecutive Lombardi Trophy in New Orleans. This trend bears out across virtually all demographics and states where Hard Rock Bet is accepting bets… except one.

New Jersey bettors are on the Eagles

The lone region that isn’t backing the Chiefs is the Garden State. New Jersey sports bettors are all over their hometown heroes, with 69% of wagers placed in New Jersey landing on the Eagles. This shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, though. After all, Lincoln Financial Field where the Eagles play their home games, is just a stones throw from the Delaware River — and the New Jersey border.

Florida sticks with KC

Hard Rock Bet is Florida sports betting. As the only legal betting app in the nation’s third-most populous state, there have been a significant number of bets flowing in on the Big Game… and most are on the Kansas City Chiefs. All of the ten largest counties in the state of Florida are backing the champs.

One of the more interesting trends we noticed while parsing data was that women, overall, are backing the Chiefs at a higher rate than men. Whether the Travis Kelce / Taylor Swift connection has something to do with this remains to be seen – but the data is clear:

  • Women: 58.6% of moneyline bets on the Kansas City Chiefs
  • Men: 53.9% of moneyline bets on the Kansas City Chiefs

Eagles to cover?

While the data indicates that bettors love the Chiefs straight up, add a point(s), and the story changes quite a bit…

62% of spread bets are on the Eagles to cover. Currently listed as just a 1-point underdog, its safe to wonder why there’s such a large delta here with Chiefs moneyline bettors given the narrow spread. One explanation could be the shifting line. When Hard Rock Bet first posted odds after the AFC Championship Game the Chiefs opened as a 2-point favorite. In the time since, the Eagles have moved to +1.5, and are now +1 on the spread.

However you want to interpret things, the data seems to indicate that bettors are expecting a close game.

Popular Props

Anytime touchdown props are one of the most popular ways to bet on football, and the big one on Sunday will be no exception. As of publication the three most-bet player props on Hard Rock Bet are:

  • Saquon Barkley anytime TD
  • Jalen Hurts anytime TD
  • Kareem Hunt anytime TD

MVP betting

Most Valuable Player is also an extremely popular betting market and the action here may surprise you. At 29 years old Patrick Mahomes has already been named MVP of the Big Game three times. Yet, he’s not the most-bet player to win the award in 2025.

Saquon Barkley (+250) has attracted the most bets to date on being named the games Most Valuable Player, with Mahomes (+110), and Jalen Hurts (+300) following behind.
