Hard Rock Bet’s $2 Million Survivor Contest officially got underway in Week 4, offering Florida players an opportunity to start fresh and join the Survivor streets after a handful of turbulent weeks to start the season — with a $2 million carrot to chase.
For the 156,511 players, that fresh start is still very much alive. They survived the opening week of the contest and will move on to Week 5, one step closer to chopping up the $2 million prize pool.
For others, the return to Survivor action was painfully brief. Let’s break down the NFL Week 4 Survivor data.
The Most Popular Picks: Survivor Week 4
The Ravens (21.6%), Vikings (16.9%), and Steelers (15.7%) – gulp – were the most popular Week 4 selections in our contest.
Baltimore at home against the Titans led the way with 51K+ picks, followed by Minnesota Vikings hosting the Miami Dolphins with 40K+. Both rewarded the faith of Florida Survivor players and sent their supporters safely through to Week 5.
Pittsburgh’s 37K+backers weren’t so fortunate. More on that shortly.
Bold Calls
Sometimes, going against the crowd pays off.
Just over 900 participants (0.4%) took their shot on Drake Maye and the struggling Patriots visiting the Bills at the new Highmark Stadium. That bold call was rewarded with a New England win – and the opportunity to pick again in Week 5.
Remember, you can’t pick the same team twice here… so selecting a less popular team could leave you with more options later on when the field narrows… if you survive.
Banana Peels: Where It Went Wrong
The biggest banana peel for Florida Survivor players this week, by far, was the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Pittsburgh looked solid in Week 3, knocking off the Bengals at home. Apparently, plenty of players bought in as the Black and Gold traveled to Cleveland on Thursday night during Week 4 to face the… dare we say resurgent Browns?
The Steelers were the betting favorite, with the point spread hovering around a field goal. But Cleveland took care of business, eliminating more than 37,000 participants on the very first game of the contest.
Other Surprise Defeats
The Bills’ home loss to the Patriots knocked another 14K+ players out of the contest – the second most of the week.
Then came Monday night, when the Saints’ loss to the Falcons sent nearly 8,000 more packing.
Between Pittsburgh, Buffalo, and New Orleans alone, more than 60,000 players were dumped out of the contest.
What You’re Playing For: A $12.78 Share – and Counting
With 156,511 players remaining, splitting the $2 million prize pool equally right now would give each Survivor approximately $12.78.
But we’re not stopping here. There’s a long way to go, and every elimination means fewer players competing for the same prize. That share will keep growing as the field shrinks and we’re excited to see what it looks like when the contest concludes in Week 17.
