The only NHL playoff series tied at two games apiece entering Tuesday takes center stage as the Vegas Golden Knights return home for Game 5 against the Anaheim Ducks. It’s been a back-and-forth series so far, with Vegas taking Game 1, Anaheim responding with a win in Game 2, Vegas reclaiming the series lead in Game 3, and then Anaheim winning on home ice Sunday to even the series.
Not only are these two teams tied heading into Game 5, but they’ve been evenly matched all season long. The Ducks swept the regular-season series 3-0, with all three games ending in 4-3 finals, including two overtime contests. Both teams also finished with nearly identical point totals in the Pacific Division and won their first-round playoff series in six games.
It’ll be interesting to see whether the alternating win-loss trend continues Tuesday night in Vegas and how the Golden Knights respond after another 4-3 loss to the Ducks in Game 4.
