There were a ton of upsets yesterday in the World Cup coming down to penalty kicks. Some heartbreakers late, but that’s not going to stop me from backing a favorite today for my Hard Rock Best Bet of the Day.
Give me France -1.5 (-132) against this Sweden team.
France came into this tournament as the favorite to win it all, and that’s already been bet down even further. The line has shifted for good reason. They’ve covered the 1.5-goal line in every single match so far in this tournament. They went out and faced some pretty good squads in Senegal and Norway and absolutely took care of business.
For me personally, I don’t trust this Sweden team. They’re 1-1-1 so far. They lost big to that Netherlands team that I liked a lot, which lost in heartbreaking fashion yesterday. They tied with Japan and beat Tunisia, but I just don’t trust them.
Especially against France, who may have the best player in the world in Kylian Mbappe. They’re better in just about every metric across the board.
So go ahead and give me France -1.5 to cover against Sweden.
