The second-round NHL playoff series between the Colorado Avalanche and Minnesota Wild continues Monday night with Game 4 at Grand Casino Arena.
The Avalanche are in unfamiliar territory. For the first time this postseason, Colorado is coming off a loss. In fact, it was the Avalanche’s first loss since April 11 dating back to the regular season.
Not only are the Wild coming off a win in Game 3, but they did so convincingly with a 5-1 victory over the Presidents’ Trophy winners. Colorado actually outshot Minnesota by 10 shots in the game, but the Wild managed to find the back of the net five times, including an empty-net goal in the final seconds.
The Wild will look to even the series at 2-2 before it shifts back to Colorado, but the Avalanche are expected to receive a boost Monday night with defenseman Josh Manson likely returning after missing the previous four games with an upper-body injury.

Avalanche vs. Wild Best Bet: Josh Manson Over 0.5 Points
Josh Manson hasn’t played since April 23 against the Los Angeles Kings in the first round, but he’s expected to return Monday night. Defensemen aren’t always known for offensive production, but Manson recorded a respectable 31 points in 79 regular-season games and had points in consecutive games before his injury.
At this stage of the playoffs, fresh legs can make a major impact. Manson has missed the last four games and hasn’t played in 18 days, making his plus-money points line an intriguing option.
- Avalanche vs. Wild Game 4 Player Prop Pick: Josh Manson Over 0.5 Points (+325)
Avalanche vs. Wild Moneyline Pick: Wild +120
The Avalanche may have been the NHL’s best team during the regular season, but they haven’t faced much adversity lately. Coming off a lopsided loss in Game 3 while still on the road could factor into Monday night’s matchup, especially with momentum now on Minnesota’s side.
Interestingly, the Wild are on a four-game winning streak as home underdogs dating back to the regular season. They’ll look to continue that trend and even the series before heading back to Colorado for Game 5.
- Avalanche vs. Wild Game 4 Moneyline Pick: Wild +120
