It’s officially Waste Management Phoenix Open week, as the PGA Tour’s most electric event of the season tees off on Thursday, February 5 at TPC Scottsdale in Phoenix, Arizona.
Fresh off a dominant wire-to-wire victory at last week’s Farmers Insurance Open, Justin Rose will not be in the field this week. That leaves the door wide open for the return of OWGR No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who is back in action after a week off and opens as the clear betting favorite at +225.
Scheffler is followed by a trio of contenders tied for the second-shortest odds, with Sam Burns, Si Woo Kim, and Cameron Young all priced at +2250.
Defending champion Thomas Detry (2025) will not participate after his move to LIV Golf earlier this year, while 2024 winner Nick Taylor is available at +6000. Scheffler, of course, won this event in both 2022 and 2023, further cementing his status as the favorite once again. Notably, 2021 champion Brooks Koepka is listed at +5000 in just his second PGA Tour start since making his return last week at Torrey Pines.
