The 2026 Presidents Cup takes place at Medinah Country Club this week, bringing together 24 of the best American golfers and international players for four days of team match play.
The 16th edition of the event will be played from September 24-27 on Medinah’s No. 3 course just outside of Chicago, Illinois. The competition features 30 total matches across four-ball, foursomes and singles, with the first team to reach 15.5 points winning the Cup. If the teams finish tied 15-15, they share the trophy.
2026 Presidents Cup Teams
Brandt Snedeker will captain the United States, while Geoff Ogilvy leads the International Team. Each captain enters the week with a 12-player roster featuring six automatic qualifiers and six captain’s picks.
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler headlines the American qualifiers alongside Cameron Young, Wyndham Clark, Russell Henley, Sam Burns and Collin Morikawa. Snedeker then used his six selections on Chris Gotterup, Xander Schauffele, Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay, Jacob Bridgeman and Jackson Koivun.
The International Team’s six automatic qualifiers are Si Woo Kim, Ryan Fox, Hideki Matsuyama, Min Woo Lee, Tom Kim and Adam Scott, who will make his 12th consecutive Presidents Cup appearance. Ogilvy rounded out his roster by selecting Sungjae Im, Nico Echavarria, Corey Conners, Nick Taylor, Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Ryo Hisatsune.
USA Looks to Extend Presidents Cup Winning Streak
The Presidents Cup has been dominated by the United States since the event began in 1994.
Team USA owns a 13-1-1 overall record across the first 15 editions and has won 10 consecutive Presidents Cups. The International Team’s lone outright victory came in 1998 at Royal Melbourne, while the 2003 competition in South Africa ended in a 17-17 tie.
The Americans extended their streak in 2024 at Royal Montreal, pulling away for an 18.5-11.5 victory.
