NFL Touchdown Predictions: Best TD Bets for Patriots vs. Seahawks Season Opener

The NFL is back, and it really doesn’t get much better than a Super Bowl rematch to open the season! There is a full buffet of anytime touchdown props and first touchdown scorer options for Seahawks vs. Patriots… and the rest of Week 1. Let’s discuss a few of my best NFL touchdown props to start the new season.

Best Seahawks vs. Patriots Touchdown Bets for Today (Sept. 9)

We’ll get things started with the Wednesday night opener between the Pats and Seahawks. Anytime TD bets I’m watching include:

Expert TD Pick: AJ Barner Anytime Touchdown (+275)

AJ Barner is an underrated – and possibly overlooked – component of Seattle’s offense. I am hoping the Seahawks continue to build on the successful, physical offensive blueprint Klint Kubiak established in 2025, because Barner has been one of their most important players near the goal line.

Last year, Barner led Seattle in snaps inside both the 5- and 10-yard lines, and it was not close. He played on 90% of the Seahawks’ snaps inside the 5 and 88% inside the 10. Those are absolutely massive rates. When Seattle had a chance to punch one in, Barner was almost always out there. Those are the high-equity snaps we want to target in the touchdown market, especially when the player is priced near 3/1.

At +275, I think Barner is one of the better TD value plays on the Wednesday slate. The +1400 first-touchdown number is a pizza-money sprinkle, but it is worth considering if you expect the Seahawks to script an early scoring drive.

Expert TD Prediction: Rhamondre Stevenson (+100)

Rhamondre Stevenson should have a stranglehold on New England’s backfield – at least for the opener.

TreVeyon Henderson was officially ruled out Tuesday, and that should create a clear path to big volume for Stevenson. He can handle traditional running-back carries, catch passes, stay on the field on passing downs, and work near the goal line. He does not need a specific game script to remain viable.

That flexibility is what makes this bet appealing. Stevenson can score on a short touchdown run, catch a screen or dump-off in the red zone, or be used as the Patriots’ preferred option at the goal line.

Even money is a very fair price for a back who should have ample opportunities. I would not be shocked if this drifts closer to minus money by kickoff as bettors react to Henderson being sidelined.

Week 1 Anytime Touchdown Bets for Week 1: Sunday Slate

Looking ahead a bit, let’s take a look at some of my best touchdown props for Sunday.

Saints vs. Lions TD Prediction: Juwan Johnson (+260)

Vegas expects points in New Orleans’ matchup with Detroit, and the Saints are dealing with a thinner group of proven pass catchers. With Jordyn Tyson out, Taysom Hill no longer with the team, and Alvin Kamara sidelined, Johnson should be among the offense’s highest-priority options behind Chris Olave. He also led the Saints in snaps inside both the 5- and 10-yard lines last season. That makes +260 a really appealing touchdown number.

Bucs vs. Bengals TD Prediction: Bucky Irving (+135)

Tampa Bay may need to score to keep up with Cincinnati and a healthy Joe Burrow. Sean Tucker’s injury status is worth monitoring, because an absence would strengthen Irving’s case for the valuable carries near the goal line. Kenneth Gainwell is the other primary true running back, so Irving could have a clearer route to carries inside the 5 and 10. I like the game environment and think +135 is playable.

Browns vs. Jaguars TD Pick: Chris Rodriguez Jr. (+185)

Rodriguez played for Liam Coen in college and was listed as a co-starter with Bhayshul Tuten on the most recent Jags’ depth chart. Jacksonville being a heavy favorite suggests a ground-and-pound script could be coming. Rodriguez may not lead the backfield in total snaps, but the buzz has pointed to him receiving meaningful work in the money zone. If he gets the high-value carries near the goal line, +185 is a number worth taking.

Ravens vs. Colts TD Pick: Mark Andrews (+180)

There is a cleaner path to targets with Isaiah Likely and Charlie Kolar not part of the equation. Derrick Henry is still the big dog in Baltimore’s red-zone offense, but Andrews remains a proven end-zone target and one of the most dangerous tight ends in football near the goal line. At +180, I think the number is too tempting to ignore.

Cardinals vs. Chargers Anytime TD Bet: Tyler Allgeier (+220)

Allgeier has a long track record of cashing touchdown tickets while sharing a backfield. He has consistently been capable of taking goal-line work from a more prominent teammate, as we saw when he was paired with Bijan Robinson. His final Week 1 role is worth confirming later this week, but I am interested at +220 if he is set to see the red-zone workload expected.

Chargers vs. Cardinals TD Prediction: Oronde Gadsden II (+550)

This is a long-shot stab, but I think the odds are worth a sprinkle. Gadsden is second on the depth chart, though the tight end situation in Los Angeles remains ambiguous. Mike McDaniel knows how to use mismatch tight ends, and he has created production from players such as Darren Waller and Jonnu Smith in recent seasons when nobody saw it coming. Gadsden has the talent to be a serious red-zone mismatch if the Chargers get down near the goal line.

Jets vs. Titans TD Prediction: Cam Ward (+750)

Strictly pizza money again on this one. Brian Daboll could give Ward a designed red-zone rush through an RPO, bootleg, or quarterback keeper. Ward does not need to produce huge rushing volume for this to be live; he just needs one aggressive play call at the pylon. At +750, that possibility is worth a small bet.

Dolphins vs Raiders TD Prediction: Chris Bell (+1100)

Bell had a late start to training camp but is listed among the three starting wide receivers. I don’t love Miami as a team in this matchup, but game script could force the Dolphins to throw if they fall behind. Any receiver expected to play a significant Week 1 snap share is interesting at 11/1, especially one with a pathway to an expanded role.
