The Tampa Bay Rays (62-44) host the Texas Rangers (55-52) for the second game of this three-game series at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, on Wednesday night. The AL West-leading Rangers picked up a 4-1 win in Tuesday’s series opener and will look to extend their winning streak to three games.

The Rangers got on the board first after Nicky Lopez’s sacrifice fly in the second inning and extended the lead to two runs on Ezequiel Durán’s sacrifice fly in the third. Rays superstar third baseman Junior Caminero cut the deficit to one with an RBI triple in the sixth inning, but Texas added two more runs on Austin Wynns’ solo home run in the seventh and Evan Carter’s RBI single in the eighth as Tampa Bay’s offense managed just five hits.

MacKenzie Gore is set to make the start for the Rangers as the left-hander looks to end July on a high note after posting a 7.66 ERA across his first five starts of the month. Right-hander Casey Legumina is expected to open for the Rays in what will be his 27th appearance of the season since joining the team and just his fourth start. Legumina owns a 3.60 ERA across five innings as a starter in 2026.

Rays vs. Rangers Best Bet: Ezequiel Durán Over 0.5 Hits (-185)

Yesterday, we looked at Joc Pederson’s hits prop as he was riding an eight-game hitting streak entering the series opener, which he extended to nine games with a single in the third inning on Tuesday. Today, we’re backing another Rangers player on a hitting streak, this time Ezequiel Durán and his eight-game streak.

Durán has put together a tremendous season, hitting .275 with 12 home runs and 57 RBIs. He’s also enjoyed a particularly strong July, posting a .303 batting average for the month. The super-utility man has recorded three multi-hit performances during his eight-game hitting streak and went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday’s series opener against Tampa Bay.

Just as we did with Pederson, we’re riding the hot bat with Durán on Wednesday night as he looks to extend his hitting streak to nine games.
