Tuesday’s MLB slate features a day-night doubleheader between the NL Central rivals Milwaukee Brewers (56-33) and St. Louis Cardinals (47-41) at Busch Stadium. The first game is scheduled for a 2:15 p.m. ET first pitch, with NL Cy Young favorite Jacob Misiorowski (-650) set to take the mound for Milwaukee.
Misiorowski has taken the league by storm with a fastball that has been clocked at 105.5 mph and overall dominant stuff. The 24-year-old right-hander enters Tuesday with an MLB-leading 1.47 ERA, 0.78 WHIP, and 156 strikeouts. He has also opened a commanding lead in the 2026 NL Cy Young race at Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook after Philadelphia’s Cristopher Sánchez allowed a career-high nine earned runs Monday against Kansas City, raising his ERA to 2.62.
Misiorowski will look to continue Milwaukee’s success against St. Louis. The Brewers own a 5-1 edge in the season series entering Tuesday, including Monday’s 4-3 victory in St. Louis. Milwaukee trailed 3-0 entering the seventh inning before erupting for four runs behind David Hamilton’s two-RBI double and Brice Turang’s two-RBI single.
The Cardinals remain firmly in the National League Wild Card race as the All-Star break approaches, sitting just a half-game behind Miami entering Tuesday. St. Louis will look to snap a two-game losing streak but faces a difficult challenge against Misiorowski in Game 1 of the doubleheader.
Brewers vs. Cardinals Current Odds
The Brewers have had the Cardinals’ number this season, and Misiorowski has already pitched well against them. As a result, Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook lists Milwaukee as the road favorite for Game 1 of the doubleheader:

Cardinals vs. Brewers Best Bet: Jacob Misiorowski Over 7.5 Strikeouts (-130)
You may be starting to notice a trend, and that’s because Misiorowski has been that dominant. “The Miz” has become a strikeout machine, averaging more than nine strikeouts per start this season while recording at least eight strikeouts in 14 of his 17 outings.
Although he allowed five runs (only one of them earned) in his last start against Cincinnati, Misiorowski still piled up 10 strikeouts across five innings. In his lone start against St. Louis this season on May 25, he threw seven innings of two-hit, one-run ball while striking out 12.
The Cardinals have done a good job limiting strikeouts this season, entering Tuesday with the fourth-fewest in MLB, but that didn’t seem to bother Misiorowski the last time he faced them. It’s also worth noting that St. Louis has been striking out more recently, ranking tied for the sixth-most strikeouts in MLB so far in July.
