The MLB-leading Atlanta Braves (42-20) take on the Toronto Blue Jays (29-33) Thursday night in the finale of this interleague series. The Braves have won the first two games and will now turn to ace Chris Sale with a sweep on the line.

Sale has been one of the most dominant pitchers of his generation, and the 2024 NL Cy Young Award winner is off to another terrific start this season. The veteran left-hander is 8-3 with a 2.01 ERA, a 0.94 WHIP, and 80 strikeouts through his first 11 starts for Atlanta. Sale currently holds the fourth-best odds (+800) to win the 2026 NL Cy Young Award at Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook in what has become a crowded race at the top.

The Blue Jays will have their hands full against Sale but will look to salvage the series and snap a four-game losing streak Thursday night.

Below is a featured pick from the Stats Hub for Thursday night’s series finale:

Blue Jays vs. Braves Best Bet: Chris Sale Over 7.5 Strikeouts

As mentioned above, Chris Sale is enjoying another dominant season. The nine-time All-Star enters Thursday with the ninth-most strikeouts in MLB and has recorded more than 7.5 strikeouts in five of his last six starts.

Sale is also riding an impressive streak of five straight starts with at least eight strikeouts when pitching as a favorite for Atlanta.

The counterargument is that Toronto does not strike out often as a team. The Blue Jays’ 446 strikeouts entering Thursday are the second-fewest in MLB. However, they have struck out 17 times through the first two games of this series.
