During a Hard Rock Bet VIP event at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, boxing legend Mike Tyson spoke with rapper Fat Joe about his highly anticipated, already-announced fight with fellow icon Floyd Mayweather Jr.
“You ’bout to fight Floyd Mayweather?” Fat Joe prompted.
Tyson responded with a simple and repeated, “Yes.“
When Fat Joe pressed on why the fight would happen, Tyson implied that Mayweather’s camp initiated the offer.
“I was minding my business… I wasn’t bothering nobody,” Tyson explained.
Getting the bag
Both men acknowledged the massive financial incentive behind the potential blockbuster event. Fat Joe referred to the purse as a “damn bag,” prompting Tyson to agree, saying, “I guess a bag is involved.” Fat Joe put an exclamation point on it – declaring, “Oh, a big one!”
Fat Joe also hyped the potential matchup as a battle between “the two biggest names in the 21st century.” A bout between the legendary heavyweight powerhouse and the undefeated defensive master would be a monumental spectacle, pitting two of the sport’s most famous figures against each other.
As of now, no official date, location, or rules for the fight have been announced.
