Jadakiss on St. John’s Outlook
I think we could make an appearance in Indy. Possibly even win the chip. St. John’s has everything: they’ve got bigs, wings, guards, and they play defense like no other. I really think St. John’s can do something this year. They just knocked off Kansas.
The road gets tougher now – they’re going up against the Boozer brothers and Duke. But anybody can beat Duke. St. John’s has the size to compete with Cam Boozer. I love Duke, they’ve been dominating for years, but Pitino has the edge with experience. This is his 16th run this far – he understands what it takes.
And look at how they won that last game: buzzer beater. The kid is a lefty and finished it with a right-hand layup. Then Pitino? No celebration. He was already at half court saying “good game” and getting ready for Duke. That shows a different level of focus and character. He’s not playing around.
Duke’s a tough competitor, but I’m taking the Johnnie’s.
