Joe Pisapia’s Hard Rock Bet of the Day: ARI-NYM Under 7 Runs (-110)

Today, I’m going to go with the Under in what I think might be a surprise pitchers’ duel between Nolan McLean and Eduardo Rodríguez in the Mets-Diamondbacks rubber game.

I said I would wear my Arizona Diamondbacks shirt that I got in Arizona last week if the D-backs win the series. I might wear it anyway because it’s kind of cool. I like it. It’s short sleeve, it’s got the hood, it’s got a Bill Belichick kind of style.

But we’ve got McLean and Rodríguez on the mound. The Mets bullpen is very good, and again, no Juan Soto for the Mets in this offense.

I think this is going to be a low-scoring game. I’ll take the Under seven runs at -110 for that game tonight.

It’s nighttime. It’s been pretty chilly in New York. Yesterday, even in the daytime, it was in the 40s. I know it’s a little warmer tonight, but it’s probably going to drop into the 40s again for that game.

So that’s my pick.

Chris Welsh’s Hard Rock Bet of the Day: Padres First Five Innings -0.5 Run Line (-125)

I’m going to be backing my boy, waiver wire pickup on the pitching market, Randy Vásquez, who has been absolutely dominant to start the year.

We talked about him changing the pitch mix up and increasing his four-seam fastball usage. He has five pitches he uses 10% or more of the time. It’s been really, really efficient.

And he’s going up against a Rockies team that has actually been surprisingly good so far this year, but this is at home in San Diego. Vásquez has been awesome.

I do actually kind of feel comfortable in saying you could take the full game, but this is about backing Randy early.

This is about the offense getting to the Rockies early, who at this moment don’t even have a designated pitcher, and getting some runs in.

So we are backing San Diego through the first five innings to be up by a run. That’s -125.

I really, really like that today.
